I just can't spend that much on a stick. Arko looks to be more reasonably priced. I'll put it on my "to-try" list. lol
Don't forget the IM stick is bigger than most. I mentioned I milled mine down and it is easily as big or bigger than your average 3" soap puck. Weighs in at 100grams I believe. Prob last around 6 mos I'd say which ain't bad for $15. Not the cheapest, but it's one of those "finer" products not as common as others so you pay a little for that. Something to keep in mind anyway. It's a great soap.
Its $14 for 3.5oz's of IM, and $15 for a 3.5oz puck of D.R. Harris, not sure what IM being in stick form has to do with it.
I don't generally use sticks unless I'm traveling. THat's why I like arko. Cheap. Effective. Awesome. & can get 15 for the price of 1 IM...lol If I were payin' extra for the scent, I just assume get the aftershave, that scent would stay a bit longer than the soap's scent I think, LOL!
Valobra and IM are both on my *must try* list.. I have been partial to sticks of late.. not just those sold as sticks. I've grated a few hard soaps and pressed them into sticks for direct application. By far the most fun. Arko, Speick, MWF and a few other sticks are my go-to's.
They are my two current favorite shave sticks. Arko is about the best thing going for the price, but I really like the IM container and the larger size. I get fantastic shaves with both IM and Valobra.
Dennis, like you, I prefer the larger size containers.. and I don't like trying to hold on to a wet slippery stick of soap. I've take the Arko and Speick sticks, as well as the MWF and a few others and pressed them into travel size twist up deodorant containers. The size and shape are perfect.
IM is a great stick, it lathers well and works great. I wish I was able to use IM. Unfortunately, it irritates my skin and I get red bumpy rashes after shaving when I use IM. If you have issues with Arko, Erasmic, and other shaving sticks, this may also cause issues for you.
That's really too bad. I have had this happen with some soaps. L'Occitane Cade was pretty bad on my face.
I'm definitely an Irisch Moos shave stick fan. Just an invigorating scent and a feeling of well being every time I use it.
