Luckily, I'm so new at this, I only have about a half dozen soap tubs. I'm thinking that SV will be a Christmas present.
I'd like to recommend the 4.3 beta formulation...while all their soaps/formulations have absolutely phenomenal mechanical properties, the 4.3 in particular is among the slickest soaps I've ever used. Regardless of which you choose the scents are some of the most well done in the industry.
Right now I have Proraso (red/green) and Vitos green in my soap/cream rotation. Figured if they are good enough for Italian barbershop’s, that they are den worthy. Have used Cella red tub and have had plenty of good shaves with it as well. I really enjoy these Italian soaps and creams and have never had buyers remorse after trying any Italian soap/cream so far.
SV is one of my favorite soaps. It’s in my shave rotation as well. It’s a go to soap for me. Always provides a great shave. Another favorite budget Italian soap that I like is the Razorock What the Puck soap. It’s a hard soap like SV. So it’s gonna last a while. I hear that it’s made by sopanifiio Bignoli, which has been mentioned here.
razo-rock soaps and creams are made by TFS.Bignoli is a small stand alone family company as far as i know.
The soft razorock soaps and creams are made by TFS. I believe @Ksblazer is correct, and the "what the puck" line of soaps are probably made by Saponifico Bignoli, which is, as you pointed out, a small, independent, family run operation. From I.B. "...Maybe it was luck, maybe destiny, but we were contacted by a small, four person (one family), artisan shop in northern Italy that was up to the task..."
now maybe, they didn't before,at least not our market.around 2018 IB made their product available in North America.iif i remember, i was one if the first guy to show a bignoli cream,Young i believe,on this forum.i could easily be mistaken of course.. they have reformed the tins recently also.
