SOTD January 28, 2017 Prep: Hot Shower. Razor: Oristo Stealth Blade: Personna Lab Blue Lather: Stirling Electric Sheep Brush: RazoRock 400 Post: Thayers Lemon WH. Aftershave: B&M Reserve Cool The Oristo Stealth is a fine shaver, this is my first DLC razor to where I can actually feel the coating working. Not sure if it's a manufacturer technique but it works better than others. Love Stirling Electric Sheep! Love. The RR400 is superb, I'd bet if this brush was made by x brush maker it would cost over $80.
Boss move! I like it. I've been medically diagnosed with celiac disease (like an allergy) and can't eat barley, rye, oats or wheat. My diet and cooking would be familiar to someone from South/Southeast Asia or the Middle East.
Shave #34 -Thompson the Shavette -Simpson Tulip 2 -Dapper Dragon, Green Dragon Soap -Stirling Glastonbury AS I am a pickup guy. I have driven one all of my adult life, and probably will forever. But I still like to get in my daughter's little Jetta once in a while and zip up to the grocery store. It's fun. That is like the difference between shaving with AC bladed shavettes and DE style. The little 1/2 a Polsilver was awesome on the corners this morning, and got into the little dips on my throat. It was a great shave. I still haven't managed to pull off a full blown BBS yet, but today's was plenty good for a date night. This was the first time I have tried Dapper Dragon soap. The scent was like a bright leather; leather with maybe some green tea and a woody note. I really liked it. I would rate it at a medium strength, and wish it was stronger, because it is fantastic. It took me a long time to get the lather I wanted, but I always go really slow with the water on a new soap. I was able to get an awesome gloopy, shiny lather that didn't fade away for as long as it took me to screw around with the shavette. For those people who like thick, pillowy lather, this wouldn't disappoint either. The slickness was top notch, both during the pass and residual. Definitely a first class soap. Have a great Saturday!
January 28 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Penhaligon's Bayolea SS Merkur Futur Penhaligon's Bayolea Soothing Gel So I didn't break NB17, for those who may think that. My parents were kind enough to give me the Futur as a present, and my wife and kids surprised me with the Penhaligon's soap and cooling gel. The soap performance was pretty good on it's first use, but I definitely want some more tries with it. The razor was also very smooth, but it was a bit different than others I have. I used a setting of 1, and got a near DFS. I will be playing around with it over the next few weeks. I find it to be a great set up though. The scent is terrific. I hope everyone has a great day!
Great gifts, and not even Father's Day yet. The Futur is a beast, that's for sure. A fun one though. And when you aren't shaving with it, you can use it to de-bark logs for furniture building.
