Having all girls (3) for me has been a joy and a blessing. Really brought out the softer side of me .

I would give you a hard time and argue that Haslinger didn’t count because of how small those pucks are, but that stuff is pretty darn hard! I have a puck that is never gonna die. Instead of Sage, they should call it Ponce de Leon.

Maybe a guy should get double points if he finishes a jar of Tabac, or triple for PdeP.

I know the Franklin area well, not Eric Rudolph well, but I know the area. I remodeled a Grease Monkey in Franklin some years back. We are about 3.5 hours out. You are deep in the heart of the Nantahala! You chose a good place to hide as Mr. Rudolph demonstrated.

That is very true. There is a lot of undeveloped land and National Forest in the area. You can hide for a long time.

I would be lucky to finish one in a year if it were all I used.

    Out of focus:

I finished my finishing stone competition and was going to return to my sub-focus of finishing off soaps but it was 4 F outside so I want hot lather, cue the QCS, tea kettle and scuttle.

New the den is a big Double Duck, it arrived yesterday so I was excited to give this new to me razor a spin. The edge was wonderful and all is right with the world, hot lather and a sharp blade.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: Double Duck 7/8
    Stop: Drygulch black latigo
    Brush: Omega silver tip
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Queen Charlotte Soaps cream
AS: Luck Tiger AS, Edwin Jagger ASB
    Scent: YSL Rive Gauche

I love that AS, Jim! You've influenced me to use it on my next shave... as long as I remember by then. :D

Thank you, Andrew! It's a very comfortable shaver.

I can’t wait to try it with a blade I actually like. The geometry of the head lets me get the blade angle down into straight razor territory, but it holds the blade with no chatter. The only DE I have been able to get a close of a shave with is an open comb I cut the combs off of.

If you are ever in Northern Arizona, there is a stretch of road between Flagstaff and Sedona called 89A. Most curves per mile in the US according to Guinness. If you go early on a weekday you can open it up and enjoy the twisties, but with traffic it can get down to 20. I rode it on my sporty with a pack of sport bikes once at night, and we averaged about 50. My seat had a permanent crease in it after that trip.

    15168523716201.jpg Day 1 , only 29 to go
    Gillette P1 super speed
    Gillette 7 o'clock blade
    Omega 10005 boar bristle
    Dickinsons witch hazel
    Rockwell aftershave balm

I'd call it a good shave, feel very irritated under chin, jawline and neck but my head came out BBS .
I find the proraso drying fast and compare it to dragging a wooden boat on pavement . Maybe it needs more water .

Yes, it needs more water. You can try a lather where you just keep adding more and more, slowly until it “breaks”. Meaning it starts to pull a disappearing act. Right before that breaking point, you have the slickest lather that soap will give you.

I lathered it from the jar and my brush was still holding water but it seemed to go on like plaster and dried very fast .

I’ll send you some different blades if you want to experiment a bit.

My brush just seems way to short to later from my mug or bowl so I chose to lather straight out of the jar. Thanks for the tip.
