Thanks, Gentlemen and yes, I have definitely enjoyed the GEM this week. Thanks again, @Linuxguile , who suggested it.

The G-Bar is much heavier than two of the others I have - Pushbutton and Featherweight. I have not used a GEM Jr so I can't comment on it specifically. I have used a 1912 and the Jr looks a good bit like the 1912. The 1912 is lighter with a shorter handle than the G-Bar. I've used all of those and prefer the G-Bar hands down.

Thanks, Perry. I hadn't ever contemplated using a GEM style until Andrew offered one to me. I used to see a tonne of them in the wild (and tonnes of Valets...must have been very popular in Canada in the day) at antique stores, etc. but never gave them much thought.
My NB '18 is working, as it is stopping me from hitting a some stores and searching for a couple different SEs...

    Schick E2 Prototype
    Schick Proline B-20/ Personna
    Tallow + Steel Maya
    Ever-Ready H40

Today I started off with the Proline E2 combo and was really paying attention to angle and pressure. First couple of strokes still felt rough so I swapped the blade out for a new Personna, world of difference. I don't know know if I did something to the blade after the first shave but I only got one good shave out of it.

First time using Tallow and Steel 'Maya'. Super goop loaded it and was treated with a very creamy, shiny, slick lather. The scent on this soap reminds me off Mexican hot chocolate with a bit of lime to add some tang in the background. Lather was so creamy and goopy that I had to take a pic!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank you Jason. Luckily it did not set of the smoke alarm. My wife had just started the dryer when it happened. Turns out it was the motor that was the issue and the problem was over as soon as she turned off the unit. It did smell up the area and the clothes in the dryer. Since both the washer and dryer were 11 years old, we went and she ordered a new set. I learned it is best to let her get what she wants. ;)

Terrific looking lather, Andrew! Nice and shiny. Your son is looking like a little boy and not a baby.

That is a great looking lather. T&S seems to get very good reviews.

It is now officially Friday with a little 30DC man. I can't believe how much he has grown. Thanks for sharing these weekly photos Andrew.

Jason @jtspartan , did Canada outlaw incandescent light bulbs like The U.S.? About all that can be found here are those CFFL, or the new LED types.

Thanks Clint! It's a very high quality soap, post shave performance was excellent and residual sickness was great. Scent strength was on the medium-high side. Put this on your "to buy" list for next year, or whenever you're having a moment of weakness! :angelic007:

And as always, it is my pleasure to share photos of Logan!

If they've been banned, it has just been in the past few years. I have lots of LEDs as well.
