Razor: Super Gillette Blue Blade razor
    Blade: 7 o'Clock Permasharp Stainless (2)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Stirling Sheep
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I decided to mix it up a bit this morning while testing a theory, so I went with Monday's razor (the SGBB Tech) and yesterday's blade (7 o'Clock Indian Green). My initial impression confirmed what I suspected- that the SGBB blade is very "mild" compared to the sharper Indian Green. At the very least, the 7 o'Clock blade has much more blade feel in the same razor. No issues, however, and a near-enough BBS for the day.

One thing that is confusing me, however, is the perception of weight (or lack thereof) between the SGBB razor and yesterday's Perspex Tech. According to posted weights, the Perspex Tech is heavier, yet it feels lighter somehow than the SGBB Tech. I suspect that part of this may have to do with balance as the SGBB Tech is more head heavy although we're mostly comparing a hollow plastic handle to a very light aluminum one. Interesting how the little differences affect our perception of a razor.

Give me a classic Fat Handle any day.

Basic blue collar shave this morning folks!
The Cremo Cologne works well above it's price point! It is a great working man's cologne. IMG_20190117_095547_510.jpg

In an E-mail conversation with Rod at Stirling, no beans spilt. Just a confirmation that you may get your wish!

"The Port-au-Prince will return in March. This may be the last year I do it for a while though, as the price of Vetiver has gone through the roof in the last year. We do have plans to expand the lineup of mutton tallow soaps, but I've not finalized any new scents yet. I'll send out an announcement via our email newsletter once we do nail things down."

What is the difference between beef tallow and mutton other than the donor animal? Smell, performance?

The exact make up of fatty acids is different. Makes for a better shaving lather.
