I'm behind a couple of days here. Had family in for the weekend, so I tried to stay off social media and be in the moment.

Shaves have been had with a variety of tools and soap, with combinations offering varying degrees of pleasure while offering remarkably similar results. None of the variations were bad. They simply varied in degree of olfactory preference, tactile agreeability, and perceived ease of use, with ease of use not always being the preferred variable. Challenge often leads to increased focus, which leads to greater awareness of experience and promotes staying in the moment, and is accompanied by a satisfaction quite noticeably different than the satisfaction experienced with the use of items one is familiar with.

    Items used:

    Razors-
    -Travel Tech
    -GEM Micromatic Clog Pruf
    -CJB Kamisori

    -Nivea Body Shave Stick
    -Barrister & Mann Seville

    Good morning!

Excellent shave to start the day. The usual three passes with the usual result.

Soapy Science up today. It's another forgotten soap. Great performance and scent. Deserves more attention than it has been getting.

Have a great week, gentlemen! [IMG]

    January 21 SOTD:

    Razor: Karve Christopher Bradley
    Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
    Brush: Ever-Ready 150
    Lather: CO Bigelow
    Aftershave: Proraso Green
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

After a few no shave days and 20 pages, I had a nice shave this morning. My typical Monday CO Bigelow and Proraso shave. It really is a great Dopp kit set up, and when paired with the Karve, it makes for a two pass DFS. It will be a busy week, but should be a good one. I hope everyone has a great day!

Weekends really should be longer. At least I was able to get in a very nice shave to start the work week. I decided to drop back to the 2 dot plate for a few days. I went with ATG pass followed by XTG pass. After touch ups along my neck and jawline, I ended with a near perfect shave. The 2 dot plate seemed to be smoother and more forgiving. A splash of Fine Santal and I am off to work. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Me and the synthetic brushes are getting along well. I've always been a brush squeezer but I've found synthetics need a good flick to move the water away from the base of the knot. Synthetics will be a regular part of the rotation.

Well I beat the weather back to St. Louis. It was quite an eventful trip to just south of Chicago, we had one of the two trucks break down halfway there. We could not get it running right so one of our big trucks was on its way to drop off another truck and take it back to our shop. So with two of the three of us in my two ton we finished the drive to our job site. Eight hours of driving for 2 1/2 hours of work to drill across the rr tracks and pull back pipe. Normally the drive is the smooth and easy part of my work trips, at least that part of the day went perfect. After we finished we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and then went next door to the holiday inn express call it a day. As it turned out they had major problem with the truck switch so they didn’t get finished up til late and that’s where both of our luggage was, so wasn’t able to have a travel shave.

Had a very busy weekend ahead of me so I figured before I started I decided to have a nice shave.
