Amen, Doug. I miss him and appreciate him more every day. He wore a uniform too. He was the Company Baker in his Army unit in the Kodiak Islands during WWII. He was also part of a three-man machine gun team. Even though I'm a college boy turned redneck hipster, I'm blessed with quality DNA. :)

@Linuxguile has two wonderful sons, and we're blessed to see how they're growing week by week. Before we know it, we'll witness a shave den explosion as three guys are shaving in that household. :happy102:

If life goes according to plan, we'll visit Boston again but never Logan International Airport... ;)

Great shave Terry. Maybe try a Feather Super blade and see if it amps things up a bit.

Interesting Charlie. My dad was a brick and stone mason as well. Working summers with him motivated me to go to college as well.

I'm sure your Father was very proud of you Charlie. Sounds to me like he raised a good son.
I would keep an eye on your mail box. Something might arrive that respects both you and your Father. I know from personal experience that mixing mud and lugging bricks are not easy jobs.

Another cold brisk morning here in Atlanta. I can't say I am a fan of winter weather. The CH2 Synthetic ate through the soap and whipped up a rich slick lather effortlessly. Three passes and touch ups ended with the baby just escaping. A splash of Fine Lavender and I am off to run some errands. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Charlie, you just couldn't buy life experiences like that anymore. Most young people today wouldn't and couldn't lay bricks all summer . And to spend that time with you Dad had to be the best part. I like working with brick and cement when i can . Now you got me thinking about finishing the front of our house in brick instead of vinyl. Please keep us updated on the progress. Thats a beautiful home you have .

That's very cool, Clint. I bet we could share some good stories. My Dad was also a stone mason. (In his younger days, he was a carpenter and then a concrete block mason.) When he laid stone, I was the saw man, and I learned how to "face" the stone with a hammer and chisel before it was laid in the wall. A middle schooler operating a masonry saw...yes, it's allowed if you read the fine print in Appendix R of the OSHA regs. Even today, I can't drive by a job site without pausing to look if brick and stone masons are working. I love everything about that craft.

If you're flying, there might be better deals going to Providence(RI)or Manchester(NH). Course if you're driving, no TSA to deal with. :)

    Good morning everyone!
I just completed Dovo shavette number 17 (42 total). Well, I did get a BBS with 2 passes and touch-ups, but I did open a previous nick, got a weeper on my upper lip doing fool's pass and got a small cut on my left neck. So, I did not get the shave like I got Thursday, but today's shave is still a good one. Have a great day guys! Grade 93 = A-

I miss my Dad everday also. Wished he could have lived forever. I haven't any sons to pass my skills onto but one of my daughters did take a welding class because she wanted to see what it was like to do my job . Shes now moved on to university to become an engineer. Said she will probably understand more if she has to deal with welders on a jobsite in the future .

Hi Chris. The bricks came from the Cherokee Brick Company. They are located in Macon, and it appears they have several plants in GA. Our bricks are called Hampton. I'm not sure if that's just a name or if it has any ties to Hampton, GA.
