That's awesome about your daughter, Patrick. Yes, the welding knowledge will be incredibly useful to her as an engineer. Some of the best engineers I know started in the skilled trades and then went on to engineering school. What field of engineering is she studying?

Thanks, 9nein9. Although I have a total of 42 shavette shaves, I do pretty well. I never have cut myself badly because I was lucky to understand the Dovo shavette from the start. At 42 shavette shaves, I consider myself at the high intermediate level. I also realize that I have recently used the longer, sharper blades vs using the shorter DE half-blades, thus, I had to tweak my technique. The differences in the blades have caused a slight uptick in nicking myself. The good thing is that they are not deep and large so that they dissappear within a day or less. I started on the Dovo shavette in October before I used a traditional SR in Nov. Right now, I am at 42 Dovo shavette shaves and 29 traditional SR shaves. During the year, I will alternate using these types of razors because I eventually want to reach 100 shaves for each. So, I have 71 out of 200 shaves which is 35.5% towards my goal.

My only bricklaying experience was building a one room church in the jungle in Brazil. No ladders, OSHA, or building codes to worry about, but really rewarding. Maybe more so because of the absence of ladders, OSHA, and building codes.

Cool story about the mission trip to Brazil, Randy. I learned some very basic carpentry skills on a Habitat for Humanity house build in Charleston, SC. It was a memorable trip.

I've never been built for skinny jeans. These are more my style...I actually ordered a couple of pairs in my target size, but they may be too heavy for the STL heat in June. Gotta love the ads for Duluth Trading. I missed my calling.

First year she will get a taste of all fields then she will pick which direction she will go in next year. She sure has the brains for it . Must have got them from my ex wife lol

 

Another thing I noticed is when you cut or nick with shavette at least it makes a clean cut , which heals faster. Had my share of those at first. Looked like i was in a catfight there for awhile.
