Tuesday morning January 1 - New Year's shave

Nameless modern TTO (Weishi (?)) / Personna (1)
    Omega S-Brush synthetic
    B+M Tuesday soap
Alum and TSD Lavender Milk Aftershave

My gift from my Secret Santa finally was delivered by Canada Post yesterday, so I am using some today. Photo of haul is below; today's shave stuff is below that:
    IMG_20190101_004633_kindlephoto-1291257135.jpg IMG_20190101_094935_kindlephoto-1321513769.jpg

I was going to use the soap sample first, but when I looked at the name of the tub, I realised it had to be tried today instead... The Omega brush worked well to load product quickly. I face lathered and wound up with lather that was creamy and protective but a little too thick. I think I need to use a shave bowl with this soap for awhile until I get the amount of water it can hold properly dialled in. The scent is a very pleasant mix of lavender and violets.

I think the razor may be a Weishi. It is light but well built. It was surprisingly loud and had a fair degree of blade feel, especially after I had used Techs recently. The blades in the plain wrappers said Personna and Made in the USA, so I think they are Lab Blues. Anyway, it was sharp and smooth in the Weishi. Two passes brought me to BBS, but the alum was a little warm today. I also noticed a drop of blood on my chin. First shave of the year, and I drew blood for the first time in months! I hope this isn't some kind of omen, especially if I play with my shavette later this month...

I will continue with this setup for the rest of the week. Santa was definitely kind this year.

This morning’s shave was brought to you by the Sesame Street “One of these things doesn’t belong” game along with “Where’s Waldo’s Shavette”.
Because of my conformist nature I followed the other lemmings over the cliff and went with the shavette this morning... until I didn’t. Not for the reasons you’d think, though. After my 3rd pass with the shavette and no significant stubble removal, I had three choices: 1.Ponder if the random blade sitting in the shavette for 6 months might be at fault, 2. Ponder if the alignment (or lack thereof) of said blade might be at fault, or 3. skip the pondering and shave. Cue the Karve FTW.

    Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender~~DG B5/Thäter Beehive~~Fatip Retro~~Nacet
    In with the new...
Shave gear acquired in 2018 and some of my newest items.
    Primo doesn't focus well, rather he prefers to shave; take a boring, generic photo of said shave :( ;
and finally talk about the shave to anyone who'll listen (read).

Since I have found a great outlet here on the 30DC thread, I will focus on continuing the trend.
Chatillon Lux uses Bison tallow. :signs002: If the shave didn't work out, Risotto might be in order. :eatdrink020:
However, the soap is an incredible product.
Using my relatively new B5 from Declaration Grooming, fitted in my former Thäter Premium Boar brush,
(don't get me started on that story, it'll curl your hair) I created THE BEST LATHER of 2019!!! :D
    IMG_9065.jpeg
    Check out that sheen!
Anyway, it was seriously slick and protective lather.
    The
lavender is no-nonsense and straightforward and quite pleasant. None too weak.
The Fatip OC performed well, loaded with a first-time usage of a Nacet blade.
I liked the blade. It was at once sharp and smooth. We'll see about longevity.
Three passes for a very nice shave.
Finished with a small splash of the CL AS, for a lovely start to 2019.
I hope everyone here has a monumental year, full of lasting memories and an abundance of good health.
