I do embrace the burn. I deliberately bought an aftershave supposedly made for the extra burn, Captains Choice Cat O'Ninetails. It has a little more kick than a standard alcohol splash but not much. None of these cause any noticable redness or lasting irritation. I would then draw the line.

I think we are seeing some soaps show signs of degradation sooner these days. Back in the day, the triple-milled soaps had (and still do have) a crazy long shelf life. This is one of the reasons I am slowly ridding my shave den of all but the triple-milled soaps.

    Ok, hello all......
Got going enough to shower, shave, and slother on some liquid goodness.
Not feeling up to par, just how do ya feel better.
    Well.....
I shower with bay rum, shave with bay rum, deodorant with bay rum, splash on bay rum, then finally soften the skin with bay rum. I could have used Stirling witch hazel bay rum, but this has no scent, so no foul.
Wanted an easy but close shave, the Yaqi Knight Helmet head, with the Razorock handle and new Feather blade was in order.
2 passes as normal face, 2 passes as normal on the head, no need to touch up anything. No issues, none.
Clean, smooth and ready to go lay back down again..... oh well.

Some say that this Yaqi head is very efficient, they're right. Not for the faint of hart, or the super speed lover. Not that there is anything wrong with a super speed. The razor does take it up a notch, add a new Feather blade to it. Well now, not to many tools can go there.
The schools are closed around here due to illnesses, all practices are cancelled too.
That's the way it is for now.
    All
    Enjoy!

Wonderful photo and shave report. I’ve not had a B&M soap long enough for it to change.

Thanks, Jim. I hope it works out too--it's been 9 hours since I applied it, and I am still catching whiffs of it. Time will tell ;)

Oh do I ever--kind of like playing Russian roulette with every post shave :happy102:

And thank you, btw, for the kind words; this is, indeed, a very welcoming community :)

Thanks, Patrick. I might just give that a whirl. My oldest daughter left home for a year and a half and left a bottle of Thayer's witch hazel behind... rose scented (confound it) :happy102:

Sorry to hear it's taking longer to get over the crud than you expected. Hope it passes quickly. The new lather catcher has to help a little, though, no? ;)

Hope you feel better soon and your hot water is restored. Having a cold and taking a cold shower is a double whammy.

That is some pristine looking Japanese steel you have there.

51st floor! I am jealous I only live the 25th floor.

Glad to hear it was not serious.

I told Chris about MKII after you were so kind as to introduce me to the brand. My MKII has a Swiss movement so I was not sure about their Japanese movements. MKII definitely are not common watches and command a good resale value. I have admired the Hamilton watches in the store. Great comparison Charlie but I am surprised you did not suggest buying both.
