Nice shave, Andrew. These Semogues notoriously chip their paint. They look great when new. Thankfully, they're not too expensive.

 

So you are saying that you are retiring one month prior to your original plan. So it means 3 more work weeks this month and 1 week in March for a total of 4 weeks. That's great!

Thank you Jeff. The DX certainly is a great tool, I like it so much more without the scales. I can almost pull off an entire shave now without a mirror I’ve used it so many times while traveling.

Seeing as we're in a Covid - 19 lockdown here I've been shaving every 2 days now. No need to shave every day since I'm not working right now.

Thank you Clint. I agree, it’s a beautiful razor.

 

The company has decide to proceed with a large turnaround that starts mid March. That means 900 contractors from all over the country will be crowding the refinery. I've been through enough turnarounds and given the current state of things I didn't think it would be wise to expose myself and in turn my family to the potential risk. I gain nothing by staying another month. I'll only be going back for one day in March. I've had enough.

had some on most of the afternoon..definite Creed Aventis clone like..not sure if exact as i only have dupe type aftershaves of it like fine platinum,and black ship grooming captain's reserve..i scored it off the canadian fragrance website for $55 .canadian.U.S has a similar site.,half of retail here in the fancy stores..nice stuff,long lasting...i like Mont Blanc products..

Good evening guys!
Decided to do another evening shave.

Dome shave:
1961 Gillette Fatboy 1rst Qtr (#6)
Rockwell DE Blade (?)
1955 Gillette Red Tip 4th Qtr
Rockwell DE Blade (?)
JR #290 Synthetic Brush
Stirling Coconut Lime SS and AS
Dickinson's Unscented Witch Hazel

Shavette Shave #231

Feather 1/2 DE (3)
JR #290 Synthethic Brush

Whiskers: 23 hrs

Head Shave:

I did 3 passes on my dome to get a nice cueball smooth shave. During the 2nd pass, I felt the the Rockwell blade outliving its usefulness so I binned the blade and used the Red Tip to finish the 3rd pass. Did get some irritation on the lower posterior of my head. Applied the witch hazel and the aftershave to finish.


Face Shave:

The JR #290 continued to perform by producing a nice creamy, voluminous lather. I only did one pass on my face because the Feather felt tuggy and I didn't have much growth. Besides, I got 2 weeps and that helped me to decide to end it. I guess Feathers are really good for 2 to 3 shaves, but I will not write this in stone just yet. Finished with just the aftershave. Ended with an IBSS+ for this session. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic because I originally planned on just headshaving.
