Thank you for the welcome! Glad to see others having favorable opinions of the Shaverboy blades! Yes, I have the Wilkinson Sword soap in the black container, the scent is fresh and for my needs it does the trick! :happy088:

Thanks for the welcome! Yes it was a fine shave! As for the soap I think it's pretty good for a newcomer to DE shaving like me. It provides enough lather and slickness to give a fine shave. Previously all I ever used was canned shave cream like Barbasol so I have nothing else to compare it to but I've had no issues with it. It's very affordable and appears it will last a long time. I also like it's fresh clean scent. Of course others may not have the same experience.

They sell them in 7-11 convenience stores, also! I never had one and quite franky, people 60 yrs and older should be banned from purchasing them. Lol! Charlie @wristwatchb, you still have time to try one!

Word of caution Frank! You will eventually expand your horizons by trying new soaps. It is the nature of the hobby.

    TTT rule???

My choice mostly revolves around the blade. My recent repeat of the popsicle stick shave clearly illustrated for me how easily hair is cut with a favorite blade. I wanted to learn to shave better with what I consider a lesser blade. I consider the Flair Tip a top performer for the task.

Things are heating up at work this month with overtime and I wanted to try a simple daily shave routine.

    My goal remains ‘comfort’ first.

Bill, may I point out a subtle difference?

    FragBubba's get swarmed by horseflies.

    FragHeads get swarmed by

Anthomyiidae species showing characteristic dipteran features:
large eyes, small antennae, sucking mouthparts,
    single pair of flying wings,
    hindwings reduced to clublike halteres.

I see you didn't encourage the granule discussion. Wise move. The new guys will eventually figure it out. ;)

    Happy New Year! :)

Oh yes I have seen the Proraso soap and shaving cream at my local pharmacy. This maybe my next try when my other stuff runs out.
I plan only buying shaving products that need replacing because of usage. Not because I simply want to try it. It's hard to resist but with today's economy and unstable employment I need to stay frugal and purchase only what I need. Besides I am getting pretty nice shaves with the products and equipment I have. :D

Fabulous shave and interesting technique Joe. As you know, I prefer to lather in a bowl, taking a pea to almond size scoop of soap out of the container. The only time a brush touches the soap is with the Cella and any soap that I have inserted into a mug. So anytime you see a mug in my SOTD pictures you can be assured that the brush went into the mug to pick up some soap.

You shoulda fixed up that old Krona and used it for another 50 years.

Most TR6 owners would have approved.

Gentlemen, thank you for the kind words. I can't tell you how much it means to see Kathy smile. We don't take life or health for granted. She was in the hospital this summer for so long that many of the healthcare providers had only seen her when she was quite ill. I took them all aside at different times and showed them recent photos of her being active, doing happy things and smiling so beautifully. I looked them all square in the eye and told them I wanted her back.

We left the tripod set up and the DSLR sitting out. We need more photos. :)

Proraso is an excellent choice and it lathers readily. If you aren't put off by citronella, Arko shave sticks are under 3 dollars and the tub is around 5 dollars. If you use it every day, then it will last you at least a year, maybe more. It also lathers great. Razorock has 4 oz pucks for under 5 dollars. You may want to try RR Amici's; it's under 4 dollars and is a barbershop scent.
Finally, Col. Conks glycerin soaps are under $4 a puck, but they don't have containers and are only 2.5 oz / puck. It also lathers well. I thought I would make you aware that there are inexpensive soaps that get the job done. The cheapest soap is Williams at 1.50/ puck. However, if you have hard water, then don't bother because it disippates while shaving. Oh, I almost forgot, Van der Hagen is about 5-6 bucks and has a nice clean smell and also lathers quite easily. Keep these suggestions on the shelf.

No reasonable Pennsyltuckian would ever toss a delightfully smelling soap just because of a little grit.

Fine Printing inks were and are commonly ground on the same 3 roller mills used for true triple milled soaps.

Nothing exceeds its ability in grinding and dispersion.

A couple of quick passes on one of these babies and that seedy soap would be totally righteous.

Thanks Joe! Whatever works for you or anyone else is fine with me. I just like to experiment and see if I can tweak my routine now and then. I just like to share what I find so that others may want to try it. For me, this lathering method saves me time and still gives me a fine, creamy lather that makes shaving easier. Also, the hot water helps, too.

I tossed it, Bill, but do have three replacements! I’m very happy with my current regimen! Straights for the mug and safeties for the dome! :)

Thanks so much for all the suggestions! We have soft water here so that's not an issue. I have read and heard so much about Arko shave sticks but where I live that would be trying to find hen's teeth! Pretty much the same with the Williams mug soap. Not easy to find here. We do have a dedicated shop that sells other brands of shave soap/creams/brushes/aftershaves (as well as lovely razors) and I do intend to check them out in the future. I will keep your suggestions in mind when I plan on visiting there!
