  1. January 1st

No shave yet today and no aluminum to make brushes. So I installed a spindle control module in my CNC mill and automated the hole drilling operation. The program needs some tweaks but I should be able to make brushes a little faster.

BTW, learning how to automate like this is the major benefit I am getting from this project. Thanks for letting me learn.

  3. Hey, good on ya, Frank! If you keep it minimalist, you’ll be the envy of this thread. You’ll be one of the few that actually saves money with traditional wet shaving. One of the cool things about this hobby - you don’t need pricy gear to achieve great results or enjoy the shaves.
Don’t feel bad about the Barbasol either. It does exactly what it’s supposed to, and works like a champ. Give it some extra water when you put it on (basically thin it out), and it’s nice and slick.
You have all the gear you need to provide awesome shaves. The real magic comes from how you use your gear. :happy088:

  4. After last month's focus using hot water prep, I'll be sticking with it going forward. Cold water finish will remain the same though.
What most likely caused my irritation early on was just poor technique. But, even after my technique improved, I stuck with cold water prep just out of habit.

  6. That brush really turned out great with the horsey knot. Excellent, Danny! The Barley handle on the EJ looks great too.

Particularly if they’re over easy crispy edged like you’d get from a searing hot, well seasoned, cast iron skillet. Second breakfast tomorrow!

  11. Thank you, Jeff! DE blades are cheap enough that reducing one shave from each won't even register a blip on the radar. I did enjoy my day of watching football. :happy088:

I'll have to see if I can find a pro-bono copyright attorney that's willing to assist me...
I saw Bruce give some answers about electric sheep and there's not much more to add. It's eye-opening and strong with lemon, citronella and eucalyptus - three scents that I enjoy. Modern Williams has a citronella vibe to me as well.

    Thank you, Joe!

Thank you, Joe! It's so good, I want to use it up and buy another... :D

Thank you, Jason! You've found the silver lining. ;)

Thank you, Blair! Happy New Year!

  13. It reminds me of Ed Norton getting second meal (it could've been breakfast) at Ralph's place. It would tick Ralph off because Ed was like a vacuum cleaner. Always eating and never gaining weight. I also remember the vacuum cleaner episode when Ralph brings home a defective one.
