Very nice pics and very nice Fat Friday shaves, Gentlemen.
Gillette Vintage Razor 50+ Years Old Focus
DE Shave # 321
Rating: 5 / 5
Razor: Gillette Flare Tip SS (1959 E-1)
Blade: Treet Double Edge
Brush: Opus Shaving Brushes “Underdog”
Lather: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E
Aftershave: Floid Genuine
Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
The third Friday of the Month = Proraso Friday. The “Underdog” boar whipped up a nice lather that allowed for another comfortable shave with the birth year Flat Tip razor. I had mentioned earlier in the week that I would flip a coin for the last day of this focus between my two birth year Gillette razors. I may still do that, however, the just arrived 1966 Gillette British Slim TQT (Twist Quick Twist) may make it’s debut shave. I finished the shave with dollops of ASB and a nice splash of Floid Genuine. A couple of spritz of Dark Obsession EdT as I prepared to go out the door has smelling good and ready for my day.
Three more class periods to go and the magic number will be allowed to change in the avatar.
Have a great day gentlemen.
The New Improved looks great, Dave. I can't recall- did it come with an 'elevator' case as well? I usually don't care much about a case, but do think those are really cool.
Congrats on the new juice as well.
Not that it really matters at all, but it looks like someone turned the tube part of that handle upside down. The patent info is usually facing 'up' and just above the ball end.
They were all New Improved's as far as I know but some elevator cases and some standard leather cases and if it was labeled Bostonian or New Standard it would take on that name but all the same razors. This one I bought as is, no case. I'm mulling that offer of a Gentlemen's agreement still............So this is a restart as of now ??
Excellent shave and enabling Dave. Look forward to your thoughts on the Club de Nuit.
Excellent shave and nice look brush Patrick.
I'm feeling pretty strong right now so I'm in for that. A Karve to you if I fail and a brush and bowl to me if I succeed. Virtual handshake.

I am going to be scruffy...
Awesome shave Jason and a great picture to boot. Take care.
I apologize for my inability to keep up with you guys. Nonetheless, here are the last two shave for Gary’s @brit Gillette Challenge.
Some great WK lather with a wonderful scent. I did experience a couple of weepers during the shave, but they were gone by the time the lather was rinsed off.
Yessir….pulled out some delightful, leather scented Noble Otter goodness for Charlie @wristwatchb today. Yeah buddy.
How about a little lather porn?
Does the lather look airy? It wasn’t. That’s what was left on the brush, plus what was wiped off the handle and placed back on the knot after face lathering for the first pass. It was some well-hydrated, dense, super slick goop. And, oh my - the scent….
I’m gonna be smelling like a leather shop for the rest of the day.
What a sendoff shave. Stupendous results today. Like, totally.
A healthy dosage of the matching AS, and I’m ready to take on the world. Or take a nap. The latter sounds better.
Now that the focus is over, the Gillette Red Tip will soon be headed to live with Paul @Paul Turner. He’ll have his very own Gillette birth year/quarter Red Tip. Paul, I look forward to your shave reports with it.
Even though all the shaves with the Red Tip this week have been great, I’m still not a “TTO guy”. Thanks to Gary for coming up with this focus. It's been a lot of fun!
Have a great Friday, gents!
Yes, restart as of now would only be fair.
Thanks Joe and you as well!
Love those Blue scales, Blair! Didn’t you tell me that Glen (@gssixgun) transferred the Logo to the new scales for you? Enjoy your day and stay safe out there!
Great shave Matt and I knew you would like the Yaqi brush.
Worth the wait to see, Awesome shaves Bruce !
I haven’t! When I looked my local store was out, and I have more than enough soap now.
