Yes, the location is now full of apartment buildings. Coney Island is a fun place. Haven't been there in many years. You can ride the famous Cyclone and have a Nathan's hot dog and crinkle cut fries at the original location. You can watch the Mets Double A club, the Cyclones. These are just a few things you can do.

One of the reasons I included Brewed Coffee in my ManHandsSoaps order is that I'd like to try out the scent to see if I would like a coffee shave soap or aftershave(course that would be for next year).

I'd like to see the Cykes....I enjoy minor-league baseball. Ebbetts was near Coney Island, eh?

No Paul. Ebbets Field was in Flatbush which was located in North Central Brooklyn. Coney Island is in the southern most part of Brooklyn.

    Fine L'Orange Noir~~Simpson 57 "Douglas"~~2011 Mühle R41/Feather~~Terre d'Hermès Parfum
Decision was made to transition from my "Rule" to a "Focus"
I will finish off the month using the R41, but now with Feather blades.
It was a pleasure to use a tallow-based soap today.
The Fine performs far above its price point and this scent is intoxicating.
Slick 'n shiny was the order of the day:

After "puck-loading" I face-lathered the lovely goo with my Simpson 57.
    Excellent flow-thru and sumptuous softness.
    It was
also nice to wield a badger after the Rubberset.
The Feather blade has been discussed here recently and I felt I needed to return to one,
    before offering my opinion.
Is the blade sharp? You betcha.
Is it a tad "harsh" on shave #1? You betcha.
Does it improve with subsequent use? You betcha.
Is it more difficult to use than any other (smoother) blade? Absolutely not.
Technique is what makes a great shave, not great gear.
(That's my opinion, and I am sticking to it)
    Today's FOTD© is Terre d'Hermès Parfum.
    Here are its notes:

Awesome shave report and photos Joseph. Fine L'Orange Noir is fantastic. If someone were looking at TdH do you recommend the EdT or the Parfum to start?

Yesterday’s mug shave met my output requirements, but as we used to say in the sixties, the process was a “bummer”! That shave involved my Riga razor, but I've found the razor itself to be bulky and awkward since acquiring it a few months ago! I know a lot of our younger member’s and even some of our older like these chunky blades, but I'm not one of them! So, for today’s shave I selected one of my three Japanese razors, a silver steel Tanifuji Airi 11/16. This sleek little razor is a pleasure to shave with, and easily whisked away my mug whiskers in two very slow luxurious passes with the Traveling Wilburys’ “End of the Line” playing in the background.

Good things are said to come in threes, and just as I have three Japanese silver steel straight razors, I also have three Shake Sharp SE safety razors. These little beauties were originally designed in the mid to late thirties to work with the thicker carbon steel blades of the era. As the name indicates, they were also designed to be self sharpening and work with DE blades, the thinking being they could extend the usage of said blades. Unfortunately, WW2 intervened, and they weren’t released until 1945, at which time thinner, more corrosion-resistant SS blades were the thing. In any case two stacked SS blades allow for single edge focus and do, as a result, for me, provide a doubling of blade life. In any case the Wilburys, “Handle with Care” again left me refreshed, clean and quite velveteen!

RAZOR: Tanifuji Airi 11/16 (Mug), Shake Sharp SE Nickel Plated Model 2.0 (Dome)
    BLADE: Kai DE
PREP: Cold water rinse and a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
