I managed to get a much need fantastic night's sleep and even slept in late this morning. I have been relaxing and enjoying my morning pot of coffee with a little internet shopping thrown in for good measure. :eatdrink013: A wonderful drama free three pass shave. I didn't catch the little guy but managed to give him a good scare.

    January 2021 Recap

I tried to dig into the shave cabinet and pull out some software and hardware that doesn't get used as much. In doing so, I have reconfirmed that my wife really does a great job supporting my hobby. No soaps finished this month but that is ok. As usual the best part of the month was following the thread. I enjoy the banter and friendship exhibited here on a daily basis. Too bad we can't export that to those not on the thread. Thanks again for allowing me to tag along. I look forward to participating next month.

Thaks Joe...you do the same. Mantic talked today about reducing Knicks&cuts. Wasn't much, the main thing I took from it is get a stypic pencil(CVS has a Clubman one).

You're welcome Clint. If I ever created something similar, it would be in packs(as opposed to one each day).

Paul, an alum bar is good for your post-shave routine. It will also stop bleeding, and it keeps your fingertips "tacky" during the shave to help with skin stretching. I currently keep one of these on hand in the Den, and it works great. I don't see them in stock at CVS, but maybe another store in your area (or Amazon obviously) sells them.

Great shave, Paul! Remember, no pressure, let the weight of the head do the work!

Right Jeff, thanks...but I'm beginning to wonder if something else is the issue(course it was the pressure that led to the cuts but is something else wrong??).

Thanks, Joe! The AS-D2 is probably one of the most efficient shavers I own.

Thanks Charlie....and then I need to figure out how to use it(them). I guess that was unfair to say, as Mantic covered a lot on the alum bar, not much on the Clubman styptic.

Mine’s 2011 vintage, Barry, but from what I understand, there’s really not much difference between the two. I’m going to try my R41 tomorrow with a Kai blade, which is a bit (smidge) (.05mm) wider than my usual Feather blade. Should be an interesting dome shave.
