    7/8 Henckels Friodur
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
    Fine Accoutrements Italian Citrus SS
    Stirling Coconut Lime
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Generic Apothecary Shave Mug
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

Well I decided to use my Fine Accoutrements Italian Citrus Soap. I hardly use it because the scent is gone, however, it does make an easy, voluminous, slick lather.
Two passes and a minor touchup gave me a BBS- shave. I did get a weep on my right chin. I attribute it to videoing the shave with my camera. It's difficult to shave when you're looking at the phone cam because the visual field is much smaller and my lighting isn't the best. However, you can finally here me because of this new phone that I got a few months back. Maybe it's not such a good thing for some of you because you have to listen to my NY accent. LOL! Anyway, despite the weep it was a nice, close comfortable shave. Hopefully, I will be able to download the shave vid tomorrow. Take care.

    Greetings,

    Face & head Shave.

A new shave set up to start the Weekend....The EJ limes & pomegranate shaving cream created a wonderful lather in a short space of time leaving an excellent post shave feel.
Carrying on with the Treet Dura Sharp another carbon which i have only used a few times... I forgot how sharp & smooth these blades are near feather sharp without feeling over sharp & sometimes rough....They worked wonderfully with the R41 making a great razor & blade duo.

An invigorating 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essentials No9 EdP to the chest & pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Great R41 shave, Barry! I know it was a close shave; they don’t get much closer than an R41. Is your model a 2013 or 2011? Enjoy your Saturday!

    CART # 23 - TSA/SAMPLE SHAVE

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Bic
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Van Yulay Spring Citrus Basil
    Aftershave: Floid Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Quick and efficient shave this morning with the cart razor. As you can see, from the shave number listed, I very rarely use carts. I have had a very limited number in the past for years. If I had my druthers, I would not use them at all. It is not that I can not get a close shave, I do not like the waste that accumulate over time.

Looking back at my shaving journey, I had recommitted in totality to wetshaving four years ago. Prior to that point, it had been an on and off journey since my teens I. The mid 70’s. I am sure you have heard or read that wetshaving is a cost effective way to shave when compared with the cart/goop method. I guess to some extent that may be true, DE blades vs cart as one example. Also, if you are able to stick with a minimal amount of hardware in your den, discipline is a must, then it may remain cost effective.

The Carbone den fails to meet this criteria, much to my enjoyment. Yes, I fell down the rabbit hole big time. When I survey the number of razors and brushes I have in my den it probably totals over $3000. The thought of saving money with the shaving experience went out the window or should I say down the drain with the suds a long time ago. Moving forward, I have added to this expense with a tremendous amount of enjoyment with expanding the hobby into restoring blades. I guess the moral of this story enjoy the process no matter which path it leads you down.

Finally, I have learned a lot from the people I have met in my journey both here in the 30DC and other groups. I hope I have been able to do the same for others as well.

Shave on brothers. Have a great Saturday.
