well, I meant that you're kinda vital if there's a tie. You become the Vice-President; you break the tie and choose the winner. I knew you weren't in the contest to win your own mug
I didn't think that Paul But now that you mention it I don't think I want to be the tie breaker. I couldn't choose between the guys Me thinks it must be random!
I use Route 66 to lather — absolutely great stuff! — but I've never considered shaving with a puck. Call me conventional but I much prefer an actual razor with which to shave.
This isn't about Rte 66 soaps but it IS about January, 2017. Calendar's already up! As for 66, I hope to get some soaps/balms throughout the year. `
Hey - am I the first to post an actual shave here? Then let me start by wishing you all a Happy New Year Mine started like this: - Route 66 "Ghost Town" - Virginia Sheng 24mm Silvertip - Schick Adjustable - Chick blade - Lucky Tiger Aftershave Haven't used Route 66 soaps for a while - the ease of use is still amazing. Route 66 is not as thirsty as many of my other shaving soaps, so you can start lathering with a dryer brush. On the other hand it is very water tolerant - so you can dial it in to you liking. You can create a very thin lather that doesn't break down or dissipate - nice for straight razor shaving. Today I went for a more creamy, yoghurty texture. I love the Ghost Town scent - a rather complex composition with smoky and leathery notes. Those are not as prominent as for example in P&B's Spitfire though - the scent is light and it fades pretty quickly. Don't see it on @Salty Belle's website any more, so I guess it has been discontinued? A shame if you ask me It also was the first shave with my NOS Schick Adjustable. I left it on the default setting of "3", which was rather mild but worked pretty well. 2 passes (WTG and ATG) , very close to BBS, zero irritation. next time I'll crank the Dial up to 5 I guess.
January 1, 2017 Timeless OC .95 Gap with Windrose SS Feather (1) “Los Tres Amigos Dos” CH2 Synthetic LE Route 66 Twisted Tweed Witch Hazel Myrsol F/Extra I will be using Route 66 Twisted Tweed for the first part of the month in an effort to finish off the tub. The scent to me is of a light green fougere which I find very pleasing. Route 66 soaps in general are very easy to lather and tolerant of various amounts of water. So as expected the CH2 Synthetic easily whipped up the Twisted Tweed into a wonderful rich slick lather. Three passes and touch ups with the Timeless OC left me with a smooth and close shave. I finished up the shave with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra. I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year's Day.
