Jan. 3rd/ 2nd Route 66 shave of the month I like a thirsty soap because it'll take extra hydration for that just a little wetter lather needed for a naked blade. Jared @PickledNorthern - Keeping my shave count up top of my photos!

SOTD January 4, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Personna injector Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Route 66 Cavendish Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Ozark Mountain Trail aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice lather again today. Went with a different brush but still got great results. This badger brush is always a good choice. Plenty of nice, slick lather provided a fine backdrop for a nice shave. Have a great day!
While I have yet to try Route 66 yet. I hope to get some soon Really enjoying seeing the pictures and reading about everyone's experience's

the way I look at it, 5 oz. of soap for the $18.50 is an OK deal. I'm learning with the WSP soap that it's going to take quite a while to even make a DENT in Lee's full-sized pucks. Presumably the same type of logic with the Rte 66 pucks.
I think that's for all soap pucks that I've come across. The full amounts are enough to last for 2-3 months of shaving.
I'm guessing about 30 shaves on an ounce of soap. I just looked back on all of my SOTD posts that I used Blades Grim Smolder (my most used soap), I have about 30 shaves on it(probably more with shaves that I didn't post), its a 4oz tin and is about 1/4 maybe 1/3 used up. I would be curious to see somebody weigh their soap before and after a shave to see exactly how much gets used up.
I found a very unexpected gift in my mailbox yesterday when I got home from work. Needless to say I had a tremendous shave with Bourbon Jungle this morning!
I confess upfront that I overload soaps in general and I tend towards larger denser brushes so my usage is not typical. However, I get between 35-40 shaves out of most artisan soaps. Harder or triple milled soaps last me much longer. My family tells me I can be obsessed but I have kept n spreadsheet with each item used on a daily basis and running totals since January 2015
That is quite impressive Clint. I'm on the other end of the spectrum in regards to loading. I typically only load for about 10 seconds, which usually give me way more lather then I need for a 3 pass shave.
