I already had one Japanese Frameback, but I like it so much and this thread got me going. So, I ordered two more Framebacks from Ebay. They should be here in a couple of days.
Not sure who made this but it is a symmetric, heavy grind shorty that shaves great. It was my weapon of choice today.
Inspired by this thread I used my favorite Japanese blade today. Made sure I was shaving in silence so I could here the sweet sound of velcro being pulled apart. Feon 172
.HINODE Yasuhira 124 6/8 inch. I have no Idea what it says, but it is built really well, and beefy. It looks and feels of Swedish Silver Steel. This is after I cleaned it up, honed it, and fixed a good sized frown.
On one side it says “日乃出” (Hinode - pronounced Hee-no-Deh”. Hinode means sunrise, hence the sunrise on the scales. If you take a picture of the scales and the opposite side of the tang I can figure it out for ya Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It seems like 泰平 (Taihei) on either side of the sunrise means peace or tranquility. I am kind of interested to see the tang closer since it shows 泰平 and two other kanji Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
