No more razors, no more razors. Saying this to myself has been working good. I have passed on many SR, but I could not leave this beauty alone. John Barber & Son (1834-1852) wearing Ivory. Has the J. Barber Square and Compass Logo, bottom jimps and a blood notch. The blade is a near wedge and just shy of 6/8. I gave it a gentle cleaning and some polish, it did not need much. For its age it is in very good shape, has had some good caretakers over the years. I look forward to using this rare razor.

It is interesting that even 180 years ago, counterfeiting was a issue for makers. A picture I lifted showing the public notice for a trademark logo. Copying and imitation is a “penal offense”, that doesn’t sound good—— off with there head

Penal Offense just means that it is a violation of the law, and is punishable, under the law.
