Pass. That is all. Nothing remarkable, but it's an ok blade. Another long good day. Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a triumphant Thursday!

Just finished my day 5 detox shave. Feather DX with QCS Vostok. I usually never go with such highly mentholated soap and a straight let alone a shavette but I want a wet slick lather and it is better than my only other option, Arko. Don't get me wrong Arko is good but the QCS is better for me.

Only a tiny weeper and almost no irritation so better than yesterday. Still just DFS.

Nice relaxing shave after an ice cold shower. Hot as hell today so I spent most of the day in the pool. Broke out the Goose for an easy , drama free shave.

    July Focus Day 7:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Cella
    Korn "The Real" Razor
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Vintage Old Spice AS

This shave is courtesy of @Drygulch and his Geo. W. Korn "The Real" razor. It was a smooth, easy shave. The style is a bit different, and the blade is a little shorter than most of my other razors, but after a few strokes it felt pretty natural. I did one pass and a little clean up for a DFS. This razor really seems to shine on the chin for me.

I capped the shave off with some vintage Old Spice AS and cologne. It is definitely a bit different in scent than the current version and I find it to be preferable. It was definitely a good start to my day. I hope everyone has a great day.

    Gillette New Long Comb
    Wilkinson Sword Classic (3)
    Stirling Synthetic 24MM
    Stirling Executive Man

Good morning friends! Today was a shave full of new items for me and they all worked wonderfully. First of all let me just say that Stirling soaps offer amazing performance. Ive never had a soap feel this slick and leave me with such a great post shave feel. The Stirling 24mm synthetic was also amazing. It is equipped with the same Plisson style synthetic knot that my RazoRock Plissoft has but the way it is set makes it feel completely different. The knot on the Stirling is set deeper in the handle with a loft height of 54mm giving it some excellent backbone. Set at 57MM the Plissoft feels much floppier by comparison. The Stirling synthetic whipped up a creamy later out of the Executive Man that felt so slick. I was thoroughly amazed how effortlessly the New LC slid across my face. The Wilkinson sword classic is still very sharp showing no signs of slowing down. 3 passed for a very comfortable DFS bordering on BBS. The alum was silent and Niva ASB went on silky smooth. After a few more uses of the brush and soap I will write up a formal review. But I can already tell you that this equipment is top notch! Have a great day my friends!

I'm glad you like that razor. Its been one of my favorite ones to learn. The ergonomics of the handle shape are amazing, considering it was made over 100 years ago. George Korn was an awesome inventor.

Well here's a surprise. I can actually get here from work now. Hmmmmm. Guess the policies got loosened up a bit, or else it's a mistake and I'll enjoy it while I can. Last time I tried it said no forums/chat sites etc. were allowed. Well, anyway, here's the report a bit earlier than usual.

Big storms earlier today. Woke up to severe thunderstorm watches that became warning. Nothing serious as it turned out. Wind, a LOT of rain, that's about it. We seem to have a monsoon season going in the Lou right now.

Another day of anticipation for the mailman. Not sure I have too much faith. I ordered blades from tryablade.com last week to fill some gaps in my stash for the blade project. Normally about 3 days getting here from Wisconsin. Hadn't shown up Tuesday so I checked the tracking. They had arrived in Hazelwood, MO on the 3rd. No problem as that's the main mail sorting facility in St. Louis. However, their next stop was the distribution center in Columbia.....about 2 hours west of here. Then they came back to Hazelwood and were delivered yesterday. An extra day's trip because someone apparently put them in the wrong spot when sorting. So, it's possible the Slim is touring another State right now after arriving here the first time. Let's hope not.

Anyway, Tabac and the Wolf today. Great shave again. This Voskhod which is on at least day 4, maybe 5, feels like a brand new blade. No tugging, pulling or any other signs of age at this point. Gotta love it. Since alum has been quiet all week I switched to a witch hazel splash followed by the Veg for the perfect ending. Great way to start a stormy day!!

Hey guys, I'm asking for prayers and good thoughts. My aunt is not doing well. We are headed down as I type to Mobile, Alabama to see her. Not sure what all is wrong but she had been recovering for the past few months from a major stroke so may be related to it. Thanks in advance guys!!

    Hot mess in July.

Got my schedule out of wack with the holiday just passed. I think I shaved yesterday, but didn't take a photo. No idea what gear I used.
Today my father had an early dentist appointment. I'm sitting on the front porch sipping my first cup of coffee, and he pulls up in moms Taurus. So I got to do an impromptu brake system diagnosis. Driver's side rear slave cylinder was juicy so we ( I ) swapped it out, bled the system, and sent him on his way. Still haven't shaved today, might not tonight. Our low temps overnight have hovered around 80° F. No relief in sight.

Annoyingly hot today so I went ice cold for my shave (used the Goose again seeing as I have a menthol bombardment again and heeding @Drygulch's advice of not using a pain stick or straights with menthol....I also took his advice and washed my hands before taking a whizz.... don't want to get nuts with menthol... ;) )

Got up at 5 a.m. today and went for a nice 2 second walk.... walked out the door.... had flashbacks to when I was working at Dennys when I was younger and opening a 500 degree oven in a 110 degree kitchen... the heat pretty much melting your face as well as your hopes and dreams... quickly said "NOPE" and went back inside....

Ice cold shower, followed by a frigid shave (BBS, no nicks or irritation), and I finished off with a cold water rinse and a deadly handful of B&M Arctique.

This razor was very sharp, but not very smooth when I used it before. I looked at the edge on my USB microscope, and the bevel looked even but not well polished. I worked on it a little and got it a lot smoother. Love this soap, bit I'm half way through it. It lathers as easily as Arko, but smells way better and awesome post shave feel. The aftershave is the best skin feel of any I have used, and heavily mentholated to boot. I did four passes on my chin today, and three passes everywhere else. I normally don't do this many passes, but I wanted to get a good feel for the edge. Result, BBS. It's ten hours after the shave right now, and I would still call this a DFS. I am going to see if I can refine this edge even more before I send it back to @Norcalnewb.

Thank you for working the edge for me on that one! It is such a nice looking razor, I am glad you were able to get a good shave out of it.

Today's shave was a test of nerves. I decided to use my Boker Red Injun as it was the next straight in rotation. You might remember I've slowly been working through my meager collection of straights seeing which were shave ready, and which needed more work. I could have just moved this one over as I know it's the best shaver I have, but I wasn't going to deny myself the pleasure of a great shave. The nervous part came in when I was just about ready to start when my daughter came in and decided to shave with Daddy. I let her pick the soap we were going to use and she chose Route 66 Sweeny Todd. I loaded up an extra large load and bowl lathered up enough for several extra passes. I gave her an empty Red Tip, and cautioned her not to make any sudden loud noises or bump into me. There really wasn't any problems but I did get a little tense every time she walked behind me to wipe her face on a towel. I did Two passes with the Boker, and some touch up with the ATT Slant. We both finished up with a little alum, no feedback for either of us, and I splashed on some MITA with hazel. She declined and went to her bathroom for some of her body spray. I cleaned and dried the Boker and gave it about 10 laps on scrub leather to make sure it was dry and about 30 on the English bridle. All is well here, but it's hot in the Piedmont.
