If you are just free wheeling it for the month, then you are focusing on not focusing on a focus. Therefore, your focus is the lack of focus on a focus, and of course, not ruling with a rule that you could also focus on but you're not. In other words.....glad you are here! Now, focus on that non-focus but not so hard it becomes a focus.
Fortunately cookies are always available here for those on a focus, whether they are focused or not or even no-focusing. Same goes for the rule crew. It's a rule you get a cookie on a rule or not a rule, and also not a rule that you have to take a cookie, even if we're focusing on cookies for the non-focus crew. Hope that further clears things up.
July 8, 2016 July Focus I’ve finally completed 6 months of Focus using each of my 13 different Schick Eversharp injector razors. This month I’ll focus on two non-Schick razors: PAL InjectoMatic Personna Floating Head Razor: Personna Floating Head Injector Blade: Personna *74 Two-day growth, three-pass shave - WTG, XTG, ATG I first shaved with this razor back in April as this razor was one of the last injector razors that I've had my eyes on and it found its way to me as a PIF from @Bama Samurai I had a beautiful shave with it back then and….. Not much different in my three shaves this week. Beautifully easy shaves with the head operating like a vacuum cleaner. Feedback is quieter than the typical injector 'velcro' sound on first passes, yet with fine reduction. The ATG pass sounded more typical while this combo provided trouble-free, near-BBS shaves every time. Cheers! RT
Trying to regain my Focus July Stirling Mountain Man & Omega @248 Rotbart 3pc & Voskhod blade Alum & Pinaud Special Reserve After not giving any love to this boar brush last month, it gifted me with several dropped bristles today. I thought it had great scrub and scritch but it feels so soft after a month of synthetic bristles. Not to worry. I'd like to break in another anytime! Stirling soap is on my WTB list. This sample PIF'd to me by @aelfred.t.allspa has been an eye opener - great stuff. The late '50's - early '60's Rotbart that @Marverel PIF'd gives a smooth mild shave. No sting from the alum block, and Pinaud S.R. last for hours. Which I spent in the neighbors driveway, loaning my tools for a rear disc brake job that after three beers still wasn't finished. Comme ci comme ça.
July Leopard Blade Trials Lord Super Stainless Since I did not shave yesterday, the Leopard had plenty to mow down... And the grail was achieved!i was able to get the Lord Super Stainless to perform a precise on pass DFS. The Alum felt like a cool stone, and the Cooling Moisture is always a nice change. It's one of the most "Barber Shop" smelling aftershave selections in my cabinet, and should probably see more action. The Lord will get a two pass tomorrow, but the tentative evaluation is that Lord is a top level shavette blade choice. Trying not to watch the news too much today. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Make someone's day tomorrow! Have a nice evening!
SOTD 7/8/16 Pre: shower, Nivea face wash Razor: Gillette Super Speed Blade: Sharp Star (3) Brush TGN Finest Soap: Lo Haiku Post: Cold water rinse, alum, witch hazel, Nivea sensitive aftershave balm, The Veg Tonight was another good shave as I got almost BBS with only 2 1/2 passes. I guess I'm kind of doing a trial of my own using different soaps and razors with the same blade and brush. I probably should reduce that to the same soap or brand of soap but oh well. Tonight for mt first pass I went WTG and got better than average reduction I noticed after feeling my face. I then went for my second pass which was XTG and I was really close and decided not to push it tonight. I just decided on a little clean up and called it quits. Figuring if I tried for a third pass I would end up with irritation and didn't want that. The Sharp Star despite being on it's 3rd day preformed great in the Super Speed and was real happy with it's performance. I rinsed off my face with cold water and put on the alum which was silent as the night tonight, not a bit of feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and nothing either which surprised me, most nights one or the other gives a tell, tell of how close I got but there was nothing tonight. I applied the aftershave balm and let it set to soak in while I checked on here for what was going on tonight and then splashed on The Veg which gave me the slightest tingle. I can always count on the Veg to talk to me. after all was said and done I was almost BBS smooth and was glad I quite when I did. Hope everyone had a great shave today!
