Yeah, I've seen it. How often do you have to polish, and what happens if you don't? What plates did you order for the Karve? If you decide not buy, but still want to try, I could send you a sample. I ordered a couple samples of PAA soaps, so I'll have a spare container to ship it in soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Smillin' Sunday Shave I like using this big razor on the weekend, a smiling, 8+/8 near wedge monster. Actually it is a pleasure to handle and find it easy to use. Combine that with it takes a fantastic edge and holds it for a very long time it has become my favorite straight. I got an epic shave today, maybe that is why I am feeling some extra love for this razor. July 2018 July 28 - Shaving like the Fuzzter! Razor - Kampfe Star LC Blade - (3) Soap - Island Hopper Brush - Jayaruh #54 Post - Alum Got home from my day job around 8:30. Sat down and ate the rest of the ribs from yesterday's rack. Had a nice leisurely shave. Got ready to go out for the night job. Sat down to write up the shave. Got pinged out on a ride with Uber. That was around 10pm. It's 1:21 am and I'm home and will now get this posted. Final shave for the Kampfe Star LC. I'm gonna miss this one and it's buddy. The Treet blade is still as smooth as the first shave and just as noisy. My wife watched me shave and was grimacing listening to it. I assured her it was just singing me an awesome song but was as smooth as ever. It is a noisy combination with this razor. The Island Hopper soap was an easy lather with the JR54 in the Marvy mug and the lather was plenty slick and protective. Two passes and then I demonstrated the Fuzzball slide for my wife to admire. She grimaced a lot at that as well. Seems like I mostly made her look scared tonight. Yeah, I know, why should tonight be any different when she sees my face, right? Ha! Beat you to that punchline. The final result was a near-BBS that finishes up this run with the LC razors in style! Hope you have a great Sunday!
How often you'd need to polish to keep it shiny depends on how often you use the razor. Clint @clint64 could probably answer this better, since he's done a bit of brass polishing in the past. If you don't polish the razor, it's going to patina. That's the worst that will happen. Brass naturally develops a patina over time. The more you use it, the faster it's going to patina. For many, that's a desired effect. Have you seen the thread on here where a guy did a force patina? That's pretty cool looking. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/karve-razor-my-patina-project.59988/ My intent (eventually, when the razor arrives) is to dry it off after use to prevent water spots, but let it patina naturally.
Thank you Gents. Charlie the orange band will be replaced very soon for that very reason. Even the girls have commented it being an Auburn watch.
July 29, 2018 Karve D Plate Feather Thäter Boar Nuàvia Blu I love the way the Blu scent feels the room as I face lather. It makes the Sunday morning shaves even more relaxing. An excellent near perfect two pass shave is a great way to start the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Vacations are really hard for me. You spend two weeks working doubletime getting things ready so that you can take off, then two weeks fretting about stuff going to Hell while you are gone, then two weeks working doubletime trying to patch everything back together. All so you can spend a ton of money while you aren’t making any. My wife and kids tell me I’m a ton of fun.
Excellent shave, Jim. I love rose scented soaps. I have had a couple of them light me up though, the Stirling included. I still have mine, but I’m afraid of it.
