    Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick M1 adjustable
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Soap: Soap Commander 13A▲
    Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

    One pass shave. Excellent lather as expected and the Schick M1 just flat works. Highest setting on the adjustment knob and all worked quite well.

    Happy 4th to everyone! We're going to lunch at a friend's house on the lake. Little boat ride around and then back home this afternoon. Should be a fun day.

    One of the last (really!) RAD purchases. A Drew Dick 5/8 Extra Full Hollow custom, scales appear to be a variant of tiger wood. Slight grin in the blade. Purchased this razor from @Keithmax. We started chatting 2nd week of June, and between our travels, just received yesterday. Before shipping to me, Keith did his magic on it, honing/stropping & oiling. I only cleaned off the oil, and went to work.

    Early morning shave...just getting to post. 2.5 pass DFS. Man oh man....this razor is SHARP. Feather Pro SE or DE blade serious business sharp. On the 4th landing.....it bit me as the swipe landed a bit too stationary. Mid right cheek. Won't scar, but it's a character builder scratch for the day. That's OK though, nothing Alum and WH couldn't fix. Had to get back on the horse.....the DD gave audible feedback for every remaining swipe. It is a light razor between the extra full hollow grind, and the scales....this razor demands a firm hold with planned pressure and deliberate guidance to get it's work done. The blade point is also more pronounced than my other straights, and felt an 'almost' oops from it a couple times (no crimson found though). Did my usual N-S, S-N passes everywhere, then XTG buffing on the lower neck. Nice and DFS smooth for the day.

    The Wild West Brushworks 2 band badger and Wholly Kaw created a concoction of creamy well hydrated Oud smelling lathery bliss. Super fun, great aroma application. Topped it off with some Thayers witch hazel, and a few spritzes of AoS Oud Suede. Smelling great for spectating at the morning parade.

    Tomorrow starts our family summer vacation. Shave reports....maybe. Keeping it simple though, probably the Dart and some SC tubes.

    Kindergarten Chemistry would be super cool! For awhile, I taught K-4 Sunday School. One year, I got to teach Bible stories from a hands-on scientific point of view. Remember the story of David and Goliath? Well, Goliath's coat of scale armor of bronze weighed five thousand shekels (about 125 lbs). To give the kids a better idea of what this meant, we put one of the lady teachers in a kiddie pool and the class (and a couple of adults) worked together to lift her off the floor. We represented the heights of David and Goliath on the wall with blue painter's tape. We had to use to a ladder measure "six cubits and a span" (nearly 10 feet) for Goliath. We did all kinds of cool stuff that year, including age-appropriate science experiments, archaeological digs, etc. The kids (and I) loved it!
