Rex Ambassador ramp up experiment
3 shaves at 2.5

1st shave PM . Preshave and lucky tiger soap and nivia aftershave balm
Maybe the best head face overall shave combo I've ever done. BBS face, BBS+ head and BBS neck. Even neck is BBS, first time ever. Not sure how, as I did nothing majorly different. However I am quite aware of shave feel for quite a while after, but not showing.

2nd shave PM. Tried to chase the dragon. Now some visible irritation on neck and the back of head has a couple razor bumps from yesterday, my sensitive areas. Apparently I can't do this everyday at this setting.

Day off, Colonial General 2 pass shave. New toy. Fairly mild, but can't assess with too much irritation going into the shave.

3rd shave Rex@2.5 AM. Good shave, 3pass but only 2+ pass on neck. Head BBS (XTG XTG ATG) BBS, face BBS (WTG XTG ATG) and neck DFS+ (WTG 45" XTG, light touchups)

So 2.5 is doable if I don't do everyday. Maybe every other shave or if I'm overly mindful aka Wunderbar

I know I can't tolerate a 3 pass shave all at setting 3, so now using it as adjustable during the shave and will try to 3/3/2
I'm going to keep going up on first pass until the first pass itself is a problem.

However...I am already seeing where this is going, and am predicting best shave/least irritationratio will be somewhere around a 3 WTG, 1.5 XTG and say .75 ATG with buffing and extra passes on swirly areas during that mild third pass.
But we will see, the experiment is running the month. Make your bets... .

Thanks, Joe! I'm lucky he's around for the maintenance tasks. Still have a long way to go until I'm comfortable with a straight razor shave. I can't relax and enjoy it the way I can with my safety razors. Hopefully, that will diminish with time. Hope you had a great day. Be careful with this return to school nonsense. I can't believe they're doing this!
