Don't hide your head, Bruce, I concur 100%. I would go so far as to say better than ALL of the current Best Badger hair.

Great shave, Maestro! Have you heard about the new SS 316L BBS Razor from IB?

Of which I was unaware at the time. The last batch of 100 came to me in 10 sealed tucks of 5 and a baggie filled with 50 loose blades (still factory wrapped, naturally).

Had one in my cart last night, Jeff. Came to my senses. I need another razor like I need a hole in the head. :D

Great shave, Keith! May I ask the purpose of a barber’s notch in a straight razor blade’s toe?

Thanks, Keith! The dang steroid they give before the infusion always messes with my sleep. I was tossing and turning so much that poor SWMBO left to sleep in the guest bedroom. Second round is a bit less, but the good thing about it is that I won’t need another for 6 months.

O sage can you see, by Paul's glint in his eye
    He so proudly does wear
At the dawn of a new day
As he shaves with his blade
He knows he has'got it made
    Gave proof that he has
a good handle on his shave skills
As he stares at the wall
    He sees to it all
    that no errors will fall
    on his grizzled visage
    Osage Rub on the face
    will ever grace thee
For the 30DC and to all new members

See Paul, I told you it was great stuff! You can also splash it on later in the day for a refreshing feeling!

    Great report and photo, Jeff!
Without being a straight user myself, I'd still venture to guess that a BBS shave is achievable with a straight, provided a certain level of mastery is attained. Whether or not you choose to stick it out that long is up to you, and dependent on your willingness. There are no wrong choices. However you choose to shave, and whatever tools you find work best is perfectly cool. :happy088:

Great shave report, Blair! Glad you’re enjoying the Nancy Boy. It’s great stuff with good post shave skin feel. I’m back with my usual MWF. Guess I’m addicted. It’s definitely lessened the blood flow on my straight shaving adventure.

I’m sure you’re right, Bruce. It’s just that at this point in my journey, the Feather Barber’s razors Shave much more closely for me. I do believe they are sharper than any of the straights I currently own, but then again it’s early on the journey for me. I’ll probably have a different opinion by October or November.

Thanks, Bruce. He is one spoiled little guy! He’s sitting on the couch pillow behind my head as I write this.

I didn't figure that I'd catch flak from you, Joseph. I just know that many regard Simpson badgers as being one of the holy-grail brushes. And, indeed they are good brushes. In this day and age, there's a lot of competition - some have come on strong. For someone who loves brushes, at least one Simpson is a "must have" for the collection. I love my Duke 3 Best. I think the Stirling rivals, and even surpasses it a little bit.
