OK shave this morning. It was going well, with a 0:50 load time for the Central Texas Soaps' Down At The River onto the Crown King brush. Nice work along the cheeks&sideburn areas and North Porcupine Alley. The trouble happened at S. Porcupine(chin). My razor hit a speedbump, which I knew would result in a cut. That was followed by a Knick just below the cut. The jaw had a lot of astroturf from yesterday, but I got it all this morning. Cactus Nation was fine. The damage at S. Porcupine happened on the first pass, thus I knew I'd have to be extra careful on the second. Luckily, I was. CTS gives you a DFS provided you do it right. I was pleased to find a way to keep most of the Aqua Velva in my hands(and not let it fall to the sink-Niagra Falls). I simply cupped my right hand. Since the cut and Knick didn't turn out to be dangerous, I'll give this shave a Pretty Excellent.

Thanks Gary...I guess "fine" is the best description, given the problem at S. Porcupine Alley. Pleased overall. except for that.

Happy Saturday everyone. I noticed I had not used the La Savonniere du Mouli, aka "donkey milk" shave soap in a long time so I decided to give it a go, The big Rubberset did a wonderful job loading and face lathering the donkey milk soap. I love the richness and slickness of this lather. Three passes and touch ups with the R102 ended another drama free BBS shave. The R41/R102 has a reputation of being a hyper aggressive razor. From my perspective, this reputation is really not accurate. While the razor does have a lot of blade feel. It is far from the most aggressive or efficient razors I have tried. A splash of Fine Platinum aftershave followed by an Aventus Creed clone, Supremacy Silver EdP left me feeling and smelling fantastic. I even got an unsolicited "damn you smell fantastic" comment from SWMBO. Now that is a win in my book. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

I hope that's not the case, Dave. Thankfully, and without sharing too many details, I have employed the "have and not need vs. need and not have" inventory strategy here. ;)

30 pucks of vintage Williams, huh? Good work. It sounds like you practice similar Dooms Day inventory strategies. :D

I always enjoy seeing the Taylor's Eye Witness come out for a spin, Joe.

The Barlow is one of my favorite knife patterns. Would love to snag one made by Taylor's Eye Witness. Super cool.
