Beautiful handle, but I'm not sure I'm ready for a synthetic, I'm enjoying my new pony brushes 50:50 tail mane mix they are softer than my silver tip badger brushes. How does the synthetic compare to softness with a 50:50 horse brush?

Take a look at some of the links in my signature, but a good Generation 3 and especially Generation 4 synthetic is as soft, or far softer, than the horse hair brushes I have used.

Beautiful! I was actually lucky enough to grab a The Golden Nib 3 band as well, recently in a trade. I have to say that it absolutely blows my Semogue boar brush out of the water. I think I was definitely meant to be a synthetic brush user (silvertip badger still hasn't shown up yet, though). ;)

One thing people mentioned was that it doesn't hold on to lather very well - I would have to respectfully disagree (at least for TGN synthetics, anyway). I was always having issues with lather being too watery or dissipated by the 3rd/4th passes with my Semogue, but with this synthetic, I always have enough, and it always ends up super creamy and nice (and I'm sure my technique is terrible..). :)
