I think it would be happier in STL though. Just a thought.

I think some sellers throw the "shave ready" line on there just to make it easier to move the razors. Or, maybe they just don't need them as sharp when they use them. I say that because I know all sales people are totally honest and above board. Trust me....I know. :angelic007:

So I'm in for a 30 day rule!

Razor: Merkur Model 180 Long Handle
    Blades: Derby Extra
    Brush: Unknown make, Boar hair
Pre-Shave, Shave Soap, Aftershave: Green Line Proraso

I'm still a newbie, so I'm really wanting to focus on technique before I explode into the world of all these soaps and brushes!

Yeah, it was sharp, but not sharp enough for me. If I was shaving my arms, it would be shave ready, but my beard is another story. No matter, I'll put it on the stones and get it up to my liking. That's all part of the fun. Taking a piece of dull steel and making it sharp enough to shave with. Almost Zen like. Or at least as close to Zen as an Irishman can get without beer.

So, an Irishman walks out of the bar. No, seriously....it can happen. :eatdrink047:

Irish women are scary enough to make it happen. I have a whole family of them. I'm just lucky some of them are still in Ireland.

Well, usually we're carried out, but I guess if they ran out of beer early..... Yeah, it could happen.

Last nights shave with my Korn razor. I touched it up on a new to me finishing stone and smoothed it out quite a bit. Needs a little more work and should be good. Actually saw the bottom of my soap too! This is good because I have two soap and aftershaves on the way. Shave was a hug grade DFS, but I didn't keep the angle right and have irritation.

Adam @Drygulch do you have backup supply of the Stephan AS? I didn't know about it until after it was discontinued. There is a vendor that appears to still have some stock.

Used the NOTSO comb again today. Again a bit of irritation. I think it's due to the RazoRock XXX rather than the Bunny. Prior to going on a 30 Focus I had chosen soaps depending on a whim. After sticking with this particular sample (Thank you @Marverel ) for several days I've experienced a bit of rawness. Being a croap it loads moist. I gave up trying to bowl lather. With the razor burn after effects I don't think I'd purchase the product, but it's been fun trying it.
Otherwise the B-V3 does it's job well. Some folks mentioned issues with clearing lather from the internals. I shave at my kitchen sink where the counter is higher & the hot water flows like a champ. The sprayer directed from the side doesn't leave any residue. No risk of bikini shaving in the food prep area either.

    MWF and Stirling brush focus
Wow, this could end up being a long month. Great brush but not so great soap. I'll keep doing this because I'm not a quitter, but I have yet to figure out why this soap has so many fans. I'm not going to subject you guys to whining about it everyday, but will let you know if my opinion changes or I give up.

What is your prep for using MWF? Do you bloom it? Trying to see if your setup differs from mine because I can get MWF to give a great lather very easily.

Yes, I bloom it and am able to get it to lather. I'm just not happy with the slickness and cushion. I think I'll try a dryer lather and see what happens. Thanks

That's what I do. Bloom it for 10 minutes or so and go at it with a damp brush and slowly add water. Maybe try distilled water if you have it next time. I really hope this works for you. The Fat is a great soap.

Shower- Noxzema facial cleaner, Dr. Bronner's All-One Hemp Citrus bar soap
    Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
Razor- Muhle R41 on a Maggard MR5 handle
    Blade- Gillette Silver Blue (2)
    Soap- TSD Killer Queen lanolin
Post Care- Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO
    CK One cologne

First try of the newest TSD creation Killer Queen today and I loved it. The menthol along with the ice water really helped cool me down, Phoenix is slightly hot today. I also really like the scent and it lathered easily. I'm very glad I purchased it. Second day on the GSB and I don't know if I'm going to find a better blade for the R41. My next shave will be be with a Voskhod. Three passes for a BBS shave. Have a great day folks!

    Blade: Personna lab blue
    Razor: Maggard MR1 with V2OC
    Lather: Tabac shave stick
    Brush: Satin Tip synthetic
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

No picture today. Out of town for a family wedding. Pretty good shave. The Tabac lathered up very easily but always seems to dry out on my neck. I probably should use a little more water.

First time using a DE is about 5 weeks. I've been on injectors and SEs. I think SEs and injectors are leading in my books. I really like them.

Hope you all have a great day!
