That dog has about the same look I had in February of my NB17. And like every lab I have ever had, I cracked and broke down.

Then I had to pull one of these with SWMBO:

    Thank you gentlemen.

That’s what I’m talking about, celebrating your birthday on the Dark Side.

Thank for the morning commute music.

That is the light in my ceiling reflection on the blade. It has a ‘high gloss’ finish.

Good news your wife is feeling better.

Oh yeah, happiness is a sharp edge.

Just for Fun with the Basics June!

    Razor - 1947 Gillette Superspeed
Blade - Generic Personna Red (2)
    Soap - VDH Luxury
    Brush - Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Well, well, well. I think I've got both VDH soaps figured out now. I used the Omega 10066 boar to get after the VDH Luxury and ended up with as fine a lather as I get out of the Deluxe. Sweet! Now, I'll never say the lather from these soaps is the best in the business, but it is one of the best for a soap in this price range and category. I'll take VDH over about any other currently made "drugstore" soap.

I took a little extra time tonight, slowed down, avoided any pressure and just let the classic SS and Personna blade work. The result is a near-BBS with no blood or other problems and the alum was quiet. Very nice indeed.

Tonight's picture is the patent drawings for barber scissors. Not exactly shaving, but it is definitely barber shop stuff. That'll do. Heat, more heat and enough humidity to drown in today with big T-storms late this afternoon. And, for the first time in over a year, we heard tornado sirens. Nothing that close to us as far as any wind but a couple of big ones rolled through and caused a stir. Nothing major though. Have a great night and a better tomorrow!

Young is a relative term. But, then, I'm on my 29th 29th birthday so I'm not aging either!

Great news that your wife is doing well today, Clint! Did you ever find a European place to ship Myrsol after GiftsandCare won’t ship it anymore, or did you get this stateside?
A great write up, Joseph, with a very informative decription of the two soaps. Like yourself, I am also a fan of the humble Techs- I prefer the prewar Canadian model, but the postwar ball end is a good little shaver as well.
Another good looking shave, Jim. I got two of those Twinjector cartridges from John @Screwtape and really find them smooth shavers. I managed to get over my guilt for using a twin blade relatively early...
Sounds like the Straight experience is going incredibly well, Andrew!
Very good advice on getting ‘good enough’ results, Charlie. Having some 2 pass shaves mixed in enables me to shave pleasantly everyday.
Fantastic shavers, Charlie! Some of my favourites there is either Mint condition or with a cool Delta Echo finish. Congrats!
What an awesome collection of gear, Mark!

Got home from the beach on Wednesday. Went to the doc on Thursday. Long story short - the flu from a couple weeks ago has turned into a bronchial infection. Now I’m on drugs and bed rest. I have lots of Shaveys to still mail, but it may be a bit before I can send them out.
