Did you know that if you play surf music through a distortion pedal it becomes heavy metal? True Story.

You're most welcome Rick! You got it because I knew you'd master it. It brings me joy every time I see a photo and report. Thanks for sharing that with the guys.

    Subject change:

We perceive in the US that Tabac is premium soap, but it was shelved alongside regular drug store products and was priced accordingly. Oddly, I've never used Tabac, but did check some out last time I saw @NCoxSTL in person. Tobacco blossom EO is an irritant to my skin, SO Tabac will be one I miss out on!

Another great shave to start the morning. The big brush whipped up a mountain of slick lather. Sticking with my two pass routine of ATG followed by XTG had the baby in site. A little touch ups along the jawline and buffing my lower right neck ended in a truly epic shave. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus AS and I am off to fight the morning commute. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

It's unfortunate that you need to forgo such a classic! I don't know if I'd classify Tabac as a premium soap, but it performs like one. A little more pricey of a purchase than some other soaps, but since it takes forever and a day to kill one off (huh, Keith @Keithmax ?), it offers quite a value in the long run. Now, the scent would be considered "premium" if you're cruising for chicks at the nursing home. ;)

Very nice lineup! The Super Speeds of the later years aren't as sought after as the earlier ones, but they still do a great job. As a result, they can usually be picked up for a bargain as well.

Thanks Jason. The Karve is a really great razor. More details to come in today’s shave report.

Sounds like a PIF is in order. Or if you want to remain friends with the future PIF winner, take the preemptive step and throw it away.

I’m a not a conformist, and I don’t think Tabac is a premium product. In my soap thread I rank it a C+ right next to Arko. Both get the job done functionally as well as anything else, but I think there are a lot of soaps that provide better performance, better scents, and better experiences. I know I’ll spur some disagreement here, but I don’t think you are missing much, Chris... unless your wife really enjoys “old man smell” on you. As always YMMV.

Thanks Jason. I need more time with the PdP to get it dialed in. At the end of my shave the lather looked dry and airy in the bowl. I tried fixing it on my face working in more water but it didn't help. Slick enough for a nice shave as long as I kept applying fresh lather as it started to dry.
