So I am caught up on the thread now. Took a few days off, then a few days to get through all the posts again. Need to catch up on a few things before I post my shaves. First order of business: Empty soap tubs. I missed about half of Mayhem’s thread, so please check my list and let me know if I have missed anything.

Second order of business: *Enabling hat on* Meet up Soap and Splash. We are having a custom soap and splash made for the 30DC 2018 Crew Meet up. I won’t give everything away yet, but it’s being made by one of my favorite vendors, and one that gets a lot of love in this thread. I should have more details next week, but it will be available for pick up at the meet up, and to order directly from the Vendor.

Sunday night’s shave was great. Cooper Monobuilt and the Big Boar. 42 software. Three passes, and a solid DFS. I am about ½ way through this soap now, but will probably have aftershave left over when it’s done. This is a fun razor to use, it has a lot of blade feel, and demands attention, but it rewards you for good technique.

Thursday’s shave was special. On Tuesday, my wife gave me an early anniversary present. She had gone out and found a wetshaving shop in Lawrence, KS, and spent some time talking to the barber that works there to make sure she understood what to get. She passed up the flashier Razor Shaped Objects, and picked up the best straight razor in the shop. This from the woman who has watched with various degrees of amusement and disgust as I went from a cart razor six years ago to a collection of over 100 razors and 30 plus soaps and aftershaves. She gave it to me early in case I didn’t like it and want to return it. I will never get rid of this razor. Route 66 and Mandom for my 10 year wedding anniversary shave, along with the new Dovo. Three passes, and a great shave. I apparently lucked out and got one with a good factory edge. Wife actually picked out the Mandom for me to wear for the big day, I didn’t even realize she liked it.

Thanks, Jason. I did not attend the University of Alabama, but have been a life-long fan of their athletics, particularly football. However, my father earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees there and my brother graduated with a Masters degree from UA, so I do have some valid connections. My maternal grandfather never attended college, but he was an Alabama fan stretching back to his early life. He was born in 1915 and died in 2008. He was stationed in San Francisco during WWII and then remained there after the war for a few more years. He went to the Rose Bowl on several occasions in the 1940s and saw Alabama play there. I have some of the old ticket stubs that he kept. Those are neat treasures.

I grew up in Montevallo, Alabama, about an hour east of Tuscaloosa, but attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Loved it. Great school. Met my wife there which makes it even better.

SOTD 06082018.gif Hot fun in the Summertime. A cool afternoon, post jobsite visit shave. Heavy on the preshave soap got it all started. Easy lather from the tub of same brand soap. Three passes, clean up, and I still had lather left over. So I lathered again and took a fourth. With DE razors I'm able to get my tricky spot - under my left ear & jaw. Still a little stubble so it's an almost CCS. Splash of The Rub and a handful of lotion finished me cool and comfy.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

Definitely not Canadian, as it has US patents. Is is a later E2, be careful with it, they tend to bite if your not paying attention.

    Fantastic shaves and photos everyone!

After a busy day breakfast with my wife going to the Dr with her for a prenatal checkup, then running some errands and yard work I finally got in a shave and some time to post.

Meant to grab the AV Ice Blue in the Avon Rook decanter, but accidently grabbed the Avon Bishop that is full of actual Wild Country. Didn't realize it until I had a generous splash applied to my face. I let you know if SWMBO comments on it later. Great shave, finish work a Glacial freeze on a hot day! Have a great weekend everyone!
