Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

    Razor - Fatip Piccolo
    Blade - sharp-star.jpg (1)
    Soap - Soap Commander Vision
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Next up on the Soap Commander mini-trials - Vision. Aqua, Amber and Mint are the three scents in this soap. It's a bit more assertive than the Fortitude was, but perhaps not quite as much as Courage. The mint definitely shows up but is well tempered with the aqua and amber scents. Very unique and not unpleasant. Perhaps a bit different than I'm used to and I'm not the world's biggest fan of mint, but this blend is very nice. The performance, of course, is just plain solid. No issues there. The JR46 had no problem loading up and producing all the lather I could hope for or ever need.

The Fatip with Sharp Star - effortless two pass BBS. I don't even have words for how smooth a shave this setup produces. Outstanding.

Sounds like a great focus, Laird. For all the hype, I’ve learned here that razors all just blade holders with their own eccentricities. Once you get the hang of each one they can all achieve the same final result. Some are more fun to drive than others, though. Welcome to the 30DC!

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Supply injector
    Brush: Zenith B02 boar
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Coconut Lime aftershave

This was yesterday afternoon's shave. I shaved and then went to a family dinner, got back late and didn't post until now.

Everyone will be happy to know that I finished off the Jeeves Bay Rum. @Drygulch - please add the Jeeves to your list for me. It feels good to finish off a soap, and what a quality ride with the Jeeves. Terrific soap.

Nice shave overall. Couple of weepers because I was going a little too fast, and I've found you can't do that with the Supply, at least in my experience. You've got to be slow and methodical. But nice overall.

More yard work today. We're planting 30 monkey grass plants and pressure washing our house. We're getting it ready to go on the market and are looking to move to the area where I work and teach, which is still fairly close to where we are. We've lived in this house for almost 9 years, and we need some different features to make it work the best for our family. So we'll see what happens!

    Have a great day!

Great work finishing the soap Perry. It is a lot of work to get a house ready for market. Pace yourself.

Some very good shave report's here today. Love reading this thread while i have my morning coffee....some comments tend to make the coffee fly out my nose i might add. This is last nights shave before grocery shopping. No rhyme nor reason just grabbed what looked like it would get the job done . And low and behold it did . Amazing. 15286410795430.jpg

    June Lavender Focus

Had to go with this '47 Super=Speed that came in yesterday's mail.

    Looks-wise, I have to give it a 5 out of 10.
(For better or worse, I sold my gorgeous '47 that had a really nice box and the cream blade dispenser :angry032:)
This one is still an excellent shaving tool, but...oh well, that ship has sailed.
Back to the focus. Mystic Water Jeff's Lavender is a no-nonsense lavender scent. Michelle's soap base is fantastic and if I didn't already have a super-ridiculous amount of soaps, I would pick up a few more from her.
The SS skated backwards and forwards across my face like there was grease barrier between the blade and my skin.
The post-shave results were smooth and moisturized.
    Buffing abounded and BBS achieved.

    Razor: ATT S1
    Blade: Polsilver SI
    Brush: JR 151
    Pre shave: Stirling mentholated
    Soap: CK Lavender Planet
    Thayers Lavender
    AS: CK Lavender Planet

Hello friends! Great shaves and reports this fine Sunday morning.

I got an early shave in this morning before a trip to the grocery. Chose the ATT S1 paired with a Polsilver SI, made for a wonderful shave!

I've been sticking with the JR 151 boar brush since I got it. Really enjoying it. The piggy smell is still there but has really lightened up.

The Lavender Planet soap and aftershave are straight up lavender scents. The soap did its job, nice and slick.

Have a great day gentlemen! [IMG]

Great shave and report. Mystic Water is excellent shave soap. I think lavender is one of her best scents.

    Great shave Jim.

Thank you, Jim! Work is still going on with some hired help (actually a college student with a pressure washer). I came inside to cool off. Other than taking about 30 minutes to eat lunch we've been going nonstop since 8:30 this morning.

Thank you, Clint! Pace yourself is great advice. I will sleep well tonight.

    Awesome photo, Jim!
