Thanks Jason! It was you and a couple of others that brought JoHS to my attention. Great stuff!

Yeah, new brush. It's a 70% badger, 30% boar. Beautiful brush, my picture doesn't do it justice. The pic is of it straight from the mailbox. It's been shampooed a couple of times and used once since the photo.

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Okaay, my last shave was two days ago and now I'm another 100+ posts further behind. I will never catch up with this thread...

Tuesday June 19 - little luxuries

    Gillette Trac II ( 4)
    Jason's non - 30DC cypress badger brush
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
Alum and TSD Milk Aftershave Lavender

Lavender is one of my favourite scents and this soap is a nice one with some sandalwood mixed in. I prefer tallow soaps and this one is a European vegan offering, but it's a good one with stuff like coconut oil in it. The badger brush loaded easily and then face lathered two passes worth of great creamy lather, with lots left over in the brush. The knot in Jason's handle is a 24mm Maggards two-band badger. I find it provides a great badger experience at an economical price.

The cart was still sharp and smooth on its fourth outing. Two passes provided a DFS. No squawk from Mr Alum. The lavender balm finished off an enjoyable shave -- the razor was strictly drugstore although it performed well; all the other components were enjoyable "little luxuries".
