    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Final numbers for May from Cartel HQ. We finished May with 6332 posts over 317 pages. That's down a bit from April but that's ok. We are still way above our average from last year and I see new faces continuing to grace our little corner of the world here. Once again I definitely appreciate everyone's continued support and I especially appreciate those of you who are so quick to welcome the newbies and get them started on their journey here! The gear looks great so far this month (and amazingly I'm caught up!) so keep that coming too! I'm debating some changes in my den and routines so more on that if I ever make a decision.

Perspective on how busy we are? Counting this post we are at 35,130 for the year so far. Two years ago, 2017, we finished the year with 35,344. We should pass that up today or tomorrow with ease. Thanks for all you guys do!

You missed me throwing away one of my Agadirs.....the shave gel. Too "Invisble" for my tastes.

Joe @Trigger, We were discussing Jerry Clower yesterday and I thought about this one. It is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it.

Question for all you fine 30DC gents. 5 months wet shaving now....still learning scents. One I see mentioned a good bit is Vetiver...seems a classic scent like Barbershop, Fougere, Bay Rum, Sandalwood, etc. Only Vetiver I've put to my nose has been at Art of Shaving store.

Please beat me up with suggestions of manufacturers and Vetiver examples. I'm looking for a Vetiver soap/cream to go with an AS/EdT/Cologne (same manufacturer hopefully but not necessary). I'm hoping for an example that will have a little staying power to last a bit. Proraso Red (Sandalwood) is an example that has staying power. A little lasts all day where I get whiffs of it, and the family notices the same. But not overpowering. Another is the WK Fougere Bouquet, and also ToBS Sandalwood. Many others that I rotate through....last 2-3-4 hours, then nothing.

My last two shaves both featured Yaqi brushes for the knot trials. The first was a 24mm bulb knot in the Ruby Red handle and the second was the 24mm fan knot in the Mysterious Space handle. Neither of these knots are as dense as the SHD or the Tip knot and they don't have the velvety soft gel tips either but what they do offer is fantastic budget/entry level performance. The bulb knot has a little more backbone then the fan and the fan splays a bit more and covers more of your face when lathering. Neither have any scritch or scrub to them and they are both really nice to use. For around $25 you can get a great brush with a cool handle and a good performing knot.

The shave were both smooth and effortless. I've been meaning to circle back to the voskhod for a while now. At first I was unimpressed with them and get like they lacked the sharpness of Mt other favorite blades. I've had no issues with sharpness so far with this blade though and have been able to get BBS with it on these shaves. Have a great day my friends!

Andrew, you managed a great doubleheader. Unfortunately, the current NY Mets manager, Mickey Calloway can't manage one game!
