Great looking shave Charlie. I managed to get in a full pot of coffee this morning. I am not sure I could manage 2 pots. It is hot and humid here too.

My hat's off to you, Paul. Sudoku puzzles drive me nuts. If I had to pick a favorite puzzle, it would be the Daily Jumble. They provide light mental exercise and a smile when you complete the surprise answer. During the move, I ran across a large book of them someone had given me years ago. I used to keep it by my beside and found it was great way to relax before bed. I need to get back to them. They are addictive once you get started.

Clint, our pots are only 48 ounces. You can get four large cups out of a pot, and I had help drinking the coffee. I drink a lot less coffee now than during my working days.

 

Proraso Green? Not mosquitoes. Maybe beetles and koala bears. And Mojito drinkers.

The simplified answer is that aluminum is more reactive than silver. If you look up Chemical Activity Series, the higher up the metal is in the column, the more reactive it is.

Another good piece of advice is that you never fail until you stop trying. Thomas Edison said, "I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps."

 

Duty is different based on the item and on the value. I rarely have to pay anything when the value is less than a hundred or so. Only one exception I can think of, and it was a used razor for Pete’s sake.
Customs agents are probably the same everywhere...

 

One of the perks of being a Mod - If I see something that needs attention I deal with it. When someone presents an idea or task as a Tutorial I can get it "Stickied" to keep it at the top of the forum or subforum, or move the whole discussion to the Tutorial forum. Honing is a complex task and each person has their ways. For the Pros that do it for money, they can expect a return on their investment so buying multiple stones is just business. If / when you feel you've collected enough data and experience please share! Either as you go or in one lump honing with film is the inexpensive path and I'm curious. You have the Teaching background that could make it a good thread.

That's my method. Not often do I seek out gear. Many times the new acquisitions present themselves for my approval and purchase.
