If you collect Social Security, then you are covered on the first day of the month of your 65th birthday.

Thank you. Now that it’s warm the Creeds are out of storage. Not sure if the Rocknel-G is unobtanium, I bought it a couple of years ago and it is a wonderful razor.

Wonderful report, Paul--glad you were able to catch that weeper before it aspired to become anything larger (alas, today I was not quite as quick off the draw as you were) :D

Awesome photo, gear and report, Blair--I got a stick of La Toja years ago, and really liked it. After using nothing bout Arko, the La Toja had kind of an exotic scent to it that I really enjoyed, but can't quite remember any more. That purchase was the beginning of me buying gear to enjoy my shaves rather than to just get rid of facial hair :D

    ”June 1--Back to Basics"
    Shavette Shave #82

    Gear
    • Razor: Utopia Care shavette--the epitome of basic, I bought this shavette for two reasons: (a) it was cheap and (b) it was black
    • Blade: Gillette 7 o’clock green (1)--a very smooth blade and sharp enough to bite when I foolishly tried an experimental stroke using a shavette that I am still largely unfamiliar with
    • Brush: Stirling Finest Badger
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country (2 Frost Drops added)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
Last week of school, and I’m actually going to school in order to work--crazy concept. No kids, still, and the faculty meetings we attend will still all be via zoom, but we’ll be grading work in our rooms and preparing everything for summer. This means a week of 5:00 am shaves; I am not my best at 5:00 am.

I didn’t want to do anything too drastic today, so my pre-shave briefing was this:
    1. No touch ups
    2. No chasing
    3. 3 passes (WTG, XTG, ATG)
    4. No touch ups
    5. No chasing
For most people this may seem redundant, but I need to tell myself things twice if there's even going to be a chance at me of me following through with it. And today it worked. No issues except on the 2nd pass where I tried to truly go XTG on a part of my chin that I usually do a hybrid of XTG/WTG--it’s hard to get my face perfectly flat there, and I caught myself with an exposed corner of the Utopia Care shavette that the Focus R21 does not have. Definitely qualified under Paul's @Paul Turner definition of a cut, but by the rinse it disappeared, and now I can’t even see where it happened. Weird.

Solidly in between BBS and DFS and no irritation--winner!

    Happy Monday, folks :D

    82 down, 18 to go!
