Just curious... Why is Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum so popular?

Very brave of you to use it in the thick of summer, I must say. Cloves&summer don't mix for me.

 

I don't really get clove when I slap it on. But that could be just me.

 

They make samples of this for a couple dollars. I personally use all of the Clubman AS's except the Vegetal Lilac. VIBR is great stuff I always get compliments on how I smell when I wear it, also get lots of compliments on the regular Clubman and the Musk as well. Not so much on the lime sec or the vanilla for some reason.

 

How about Citrus Musk?

 

Well I'll be dipped... when ever I saw this bottle I always thought it was hair tonic for some reason. Looks like I need to try this out, just ordered a sample bottle.

UDATE: hmmmmm, Bay Rum!!

 

I have Taylor of old bond street bay rum. And personal for me i don't like the smell but we are all different.But there is many other bay rum out there so maybe there is one or two i like..

No, I do not. I'm unfamiliar with the Polo line. Any good?

 

I'll find out if I try Stirling's Polo Blu. I used to subscribe to Men's Health Magazine, which would include in various pages those "sniff sheets"(for lack of what they really are, lol), so I could do "sniff tests". I did like the set (Red, Blue, Green) very much. But too expensive for me.

Interesting you describe it as "The Bay Rum others aspire to be". I read once-I think on the Clubman website-something to the effect: "Other aftershaves that cost much more have tried to duplicate Clubman, but they just can't do it"(talkinabout the Original, but I suppose now that I think about it, ALL of Ed's variety).
