I was on the wait list for the Karve copper and all of a sudden I get a Pay Pal invoice from Karve. I paid the invoice and three days later my copper razor is at the door.

It looks great with my brass & SS Karve razors in the Den. I really do like the shaves I get with the Karve razor design. After finding the right plate for me I have not looked back. The B & C plates my preferred being the B and the D being just to aggressive for me.

    Happy Shaves,
    Bill G

It's been a while since I last posted. It's been kind of crazy around the home front as well as work. On top of which I managed to get into some poison Ivy that started out as annoying and progressed to miserable.
Things are not quite so hectic now and I have some time to post about my new acquisition.

I have been shaving with a Van Der Hagen for a while now and wanted something a little nicer. I began to research what was available and what made the most sense for me.

With so many great offerings from fairly inexpensive up to "my wife would kill me if she found out" It took some time to make a selection. I decided I wanted some type of adjustable hoping it would help me figure out what level of aggressiveness/efficiency would be most compatible with my particular mug.

It was a tough decision, but I narrowed it down the the Rockwell S6 and the Karve. Both look like great options but I thought the look of the brass and optional OC heads gave the Karve a slight advantage. I ordered through West Coast Shaving with a C plate and the 3" Gladius handle. I recieved the order promptly and I think it looks fantastic.

I have had quite a few shaves with it over the last month and am very pleased with the results. I even shaved the mustache I've been sporting for the last 20 years or so. I did have to learn a lighter touch than I was used to with the VDH. I got a little heavy handed with my 3rd shave and made good use of the styptic pencil I had enough forethought to include with my razor order. I have never used one before and may have let slip a few words not meant for mixed company. My technique is getting better and I am learning to keep a light touch, let the razor do the work and getting better with the angle. So far I have only had to use the pencil once! Thank goodness for small victories.

I had my wife take a pic of my new razor as she fancies herself a bit of a shutterbug and I have no such tallent.

I also have a new handle ordered from WCS to go with the open comb WCS head that I won in the raffle here recently. Thanks Jorvaljr! Looking forward to trying an OC for the first time. You can be sure I will be letting you all know how it goes.
