Last Fridiay we put the DVD of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them in the player, so yesterday all was fresh in our memories for The Crimes Of Grindelwald.
Great movie ... I also like "Mclintock!", "The Quiet Man", and "The Fighting Seabees". All amazing movies that make a man realize that he can be better and nobler by striving for what's right in life. Unfortunately many new movies fall so short of this that they only make a man feel ugly, stupid and hopeless.
Wreck it Ralph was pretty much sold out so we went to this instead which the girls wanted to see more anyway. Not terrible but still confused why they felt the need to make another reboot of this holiday classic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Watched this tonight with my daughter. She is obsessed with all things science and loved it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Suspenseful thriller, told in an unusual way, entirely through phone and computer screens, face time video calls, and text messages. I was initially apprehensive about the subject -- a father searching for his missing daughter, but the story was powerful and the ending was satisfying.
Trying to find something on Netflix, stumbled on "The Lobster". Should have picked myself up and moved on. One Oscar nomination and a bunch of obscure awards doesn't make it a good movie. Not Family Friendly, or even common sensical.
A Man Called Ove is about a grumpy old man who begins to open up to people around him. We learn why he is so grumpy in flash backs of the loss of his beloved wife. Touching and humorous in a gentle way. In Swedish with English subtitles. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk
A couple of great Christmas movies with the wife: Holiday Inn It's A Wonderful Life They don't make movies like this anymore...sadly. The world might be a better place.
I happen to be a very big fan of his movie "The Sands of Iwo Jima" the footage you see of the landing craft heading toward the beach is actual battle footage . Grandpa was assigned to a "Marine Raider" detachment, and said the stuff they saw on Iwo was HORRENDOUS! Now, to a better note Last night I watched "the Free state of Jones" great picture with good acting. A bit long, but that's the norm now. Matthew McCounaughy does a great job.
Currently watching "Breakfast At Tiffany's" for the 1st time. So far its a swell movie, have been working thru many of the old classic films latley. So much better than most of the garbage they come up with these days IMO.
