My wife suggested that we watch the first Dune again before the second part comes out in March. I read the books decades ago, so I could explain the complicated plot details. She really liked the film and is looking forward to the next one.
I also enjoyed the book. I live in Washington State, and I worked in Seattle before retiring to my current town 70 miles north of the city. So everyone here thinks of this as a local story. I say all that as background because we went to see this movie at a restored historic theater that was packed on Friday night with older people! It was an enthusiastic audience. When the UW team won races in the movie, the audience was cheering and applauding as if they were attending a real sporting event!
Oppenheimer… well the first 40 minutes anyway. It was disjointed & boring, How to Make a Monster -on Svengoolie. This was much more fun.
