I'd give it a solid 4 out of 10. Something to have on in the background and catch the occasional parkour jump or blood splatter. The main girl's acting was pretty bad.
Saving private Ryan .... Right now on TV.... Winding down a day of antique shops for straights .... Found a dozen but prices were crazy... What the heck?
You Don't Know Jack (2010) - Second really interesting HBO movie with Al Pacino in that I've watched in the space of a couple of weeks.
It's Tom Berenger. He's back. In another Sniper movie! Trailer: I really liked it - but if it didn't have Tom Berenger in it I may not have
Just watched this this weekend. I thought it was pretty good. Apparently it's based on a well known book. Trailer:
That's standard "children's" literature. At least that's what I thought when they made me read it in elementary school. It was long and boring. I don't remember a thing about it though.
Ah yes, I can see it being maybe a 'Young Adult' kind of book. It was pretty interesting though. I liked Jeff Bridges in it.
The Terminator (1984). This is a distinctly darker Arnold from his later movies. I didn't like this one as much as some of his later movies- Total Recall, Terminator 2, or even the Running Man. I'm a fan of his for the silliness and in this movie there is none. Just a serious movie.
The Howling I've been a fan of this movie since it came out back when I was a kid. I remember it was on a lot of news shows because it had revolutionary special effects. I think it stands up still. A great cast with a lot of fantastic cameos like Roger Corman and Dick Miller. Some really funny one liners, mainly due to the passage of time. Like a guy at a gas station making a comment about someone's "fancy Mazda".
This one; The entire movie is on Veoh now: http://www.veoh.com/watch/v20662087gBm5WWAc?h1=Family+Guy+-+It's+a+Trap
http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/best-show-on-tv-these-days.36453/page-4#post-719735 Not really a movie, but a documentary film nevertheless.
Made prior to Arnold's breakout box-office success in later films. This first T1 had a considerably smaller budget than the latter T-films, and there was no hint of the Arnold character having any redeeming or likable qualities which surfaced in the latter films of this series. This initial terminator is (was?) a no nonsense, single-minded exterminator with no compassion or feeling. Good film that launched the series. "I'll be bah-ck"….
ill have to see it. I lost interest in the show after the first season because they used the same jokes
I was pretty young when I saw this and I remember being quite frightened when Arnold came on, this was more of a horror film than action and was really good for its time.
Prometheus (2012) on Sunday and then Alien (1979) last night. Great stuff from Ridley Scott. Aliens, my personal favourite of the series, will be next weekend.
We had a film marathon weekend. Saturday: Flash Gordon (so bad it was good - plot holes the size of the earth, horrendous acting, 'special' effects - but fun to watch! ) Studio Ghibli's 'My Neighbor Totoro' (absolutely great!) The Lego Movie (must see if you've ever played with Lego - everything is made of Lego blocks) Sunday: Captain America 1 Captain America 2 (I found this one stronger than the first) The Lego Movie (again, since a friend came along and hadn't see it yet and we didn't mind )
