I love sci-fi and robots...so one would had thought Chappie would be a done deal for me - turns out I found it to be extremely predictable, boring and just plain bad. I watched half of it then couldn't put up with it any longer.
Watched American Sniper An Ok film not a great film Saw Tracers. ., not a classic by any means but an entertaining way to pass the time.
I think it was The Water Diviner (Good film, bad title) where at the end credits they thanked Pinaud Clubman. Now there was a scene where one of the characters was shaving but you don't see him shave and you don't see any of the shaving products. So I wonder what Pinaud Clubman's involvement is in an Australian film set in Turkey.
Watched last night. Excellent! I thought I was generally aware of key moments in history. Never knew this.
I'm glad the films aren't in lucas's control anymore that way he can't tinker with them anymore. There is one film that should be improved. Jaws. When the film came out and years layer when I saw it as a youngster the shark was terrifying. But since then we have seen so many shark documentaries that nowadays when we watch Jaws the shark looks like a fake model. I think it would be great if they added a cgi shark at the end of the film just to keep it scary. But other than that they shouldn't change a thing. Still my favourite movie.
Lucas claimed that the only version people will see of Star Wars are his improved version of the films as the originals won't exist. Luckily I have the original version of star wars on vhs which I put onto dvd. Just wish I had the other 2 films in their original format. By the way Anyone notice that the plot of Eragon is EXACTLY the same as Star Wars.
Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here's a thought. If Tony Stark made Ultron, and Ultron Sorta Kinda made the Vision and Tony finished it then... Tony is the Father of Ultron and Ultron is the father of the Vision So... Tony Stark is the Vision's grandfather... \O_O/
I haven't watched a movie in a few weeks but we've been binge watching a few TV series. I recommend Bosch on Amazon Prime and I am going to rave about Sherlock, the BBC series reimaging Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's hero.
All I really need to know after a quick glance at the ratings from Rotten Tomatoes. Generally speaking, most films that receive lower than a 50% rating are a dicey bet for entertainment. Less than 10%, you almost WANT to see it just to find out how BAD it truly is...
Rotten Tomatoes is a horrible choice for reviews in my opinion. I've enjoyed quite a bit of movies they said were horrible and hated movies they gave awesome reviews about.
Not a big fan of most Tarentino films, but I did find this film entertaining.... Christoph Waltz is outstanding in his role as the 'Jew Hunter' Landa....
Entirely subjective, for sure, but the Rotten Tomatoes ratings are a summation from a significant number of film reviewers in the field, nationwide, both professional and non-professional (audience). I don't always agree with Film reviewers, that is for certain, but if 20 out of 25 tell me a movie stinks (or is wonderful), the numbers at least have some credibility.
