Just watching Ferris Beuller's Day Off, and I noticed in the scene where he is in the bathroom at the restaurant that there is an assortment of items on the sink counter such as Clubman powder, Clubman aftershave, and the Veg.
I'm watching Midnight in Paris again. It's quite possibly my favorite movie ever. I love the 1920's and Hemingway is a major character in it.
I'm a big fan of the original too. I haven't seen this yet, but I already am assuming I'll hate it. I don't see how CGI stunts could beat an army surplus solid fuel rocket jammed into the trunk of a stock Falcon. I think the stunts in the original can't be beat, regardless how many millions were poured into making a realistic looking cartoon.
Interesting. I saw the original years ago and wasn't too fond of it. My sons took me to see the recent MadMax and I was entertained. It won't win any awards for character-development, but the non-stop action scenes were enjoyable. I views it as a typical summer action film with some terrific death-defying action sequences. Biggest difference vs the original films: CGI.
Haven't seen a new movie in a few months. SWMBO and I have been binging on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. I'm going to recommend: Veep Sirens Better Off Ted All are funny.
I think visually and action-wise the movie didn't do much wrong. Where it left me cold is, I think, me expecting to see something similar to the original in terms of good characters, plot and, in lack of a better word a bit of 'soul'. This movie felt very flat to me.
Movies watched this past week. This was extremely dumb...but also, at times, very, very funny: This was also more fun than I thought it would be:
