Goosebumps ... I am not familiar with the books or TV series, but it was enjoyable and fun to watch although the script was a bit weak in areas...
Yesterday, did the John Ford cavalry trilogy: "Fort Apache", "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon", and "Rio Grande".
Nice! I love The Duke! Last movie I watched (last night after the Ariz/GB game): Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange.
Last at home was The Wolverine, last in the theater was Star Wars: The Force Awakens.....and ready to go see it again!
Last time I went to a movie theatre was 1969. Everybody was sickly & coughing and some smoking. I just enjoy they at home now. Don't like crowds very well.
Finally saw the new Star Wars movie. The wife and I really enjoyed it. The funny thing is we saw it in a large IMAX theatre and all 40 or 50 people in there with us were all sitting clustered together in the middle.
Swiss Miss (1938) Just watched this classic that has Laurel and Hardy moving a piano across a rope bridge in the Swiss Alps while getting attacked by a gorilla.
This post contains major spoils for Star Wars the force awakens. So I'm not sure if the fact that the plot so closely resembles that of episode 4 is some sort of homage to the original or just plain laziness on behalf if the writers. Also some of the choices made with the storyline tells us some interesting things. For example if you are a jedi master be careful who you train, they may become a psycho who wants to take over the world. If this is the case you are to abandon all of your friends and go into hiding until a you jedi comes to you for training. Both Luke and Obi Wan Kanobi do this. The plots are very similar. A young person who are both jedi who don't know they posess any powers, are stuck on a boring sandy planet. They then have to help a droid to return to the resistance as the droid is in possession of special information that could defeat the Empire. The Empire has a new weapon that can destroy planets. Up until now the character of Rey has followed the same plot line as Luke did in episode 4. It gets a bit different as in Episode 4 Luke has to rescue the princess whereas in Episode 7 it's Rey taking on the princess role and has to be rescued by Fin. Finally we have x wing fighters trying to hit a small target on the vulnerable part of the death star thing, whilst somebody is inside trying to find the right switch in order to deactivate something. Wow this film is very very similar to episode 4. Still it was a good film.
