I watched it last night too. Major disappointment! I didn't like the computer generated weapons, fight scenes, etc. Also I had a big gripe against the English. Some actors speaking with English accents? It's supposed to be feudal China! It was all around a fail. The first is awesome...but this just didn't make the cut. I gave it 1/5 stars.
I watched it last night on Turner Classic Movies!! Edit: I'm talking about Young Frankenstein for clarification...
The Human Centipede III So surprisingly bad. It was nonstop yelling and overacting by Dieter Laser for an hour and 40 minutes. There is a theory that Tom Six intentionally made this as a bad comedy. I don't see it. By far the worst of the three. The first was okay, the second was a masterpiece but this one was garbage. My high hopes were totally dashed.
I finally saw this film. Its a great film and a crazy story. You don't need to be a fan other their music to enjoy this film. 8/10
Watched Phantoms because "Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms" And it was on Netflix. Actually Affleck is way too young in this film to play a former FBI agent turned Sheriff of a small town. The story is ok but I kind of lost interest towards the end 6/10
Has anyone else noticed that kids films have seriously increased the danger factor in their films. My daughter won't watch any of thn modern films after the first viewing as there is usually something sad in it. My point is in Toy Story the worst thing that happened is the neighbor treats his toys badly. In big hero 6 the good guys keep dying. Frozen is just tragic. The sisters have to be separated. One of them spends her childhood locked in a room, then there parents die. That's just in the first ten minutes. Is it my imagination but were children's films a bit more innocent in the past?

I don't know, some of the classic Disney - like Bambi's mom getting shot.. Old Yeller.. Lion King.. Watership Down really disturbed me when I was little, but that isn't really a kid's movie even if it's animated. There was a bit where you're correct somewhere in between the Disney classics, and today. 80's maybe? And there's always some lighter fare. Pixar in general, and they are still fantastic movies. Toy Story 3 got pretty dark for a bit...
As a general rule, I would say yes, but there were exceptions. We got this one when our first daughter was young but it had what I thought were some pretty adult themes. She didn't like it much either.
My brother hummed the theme from Jaws at bedtime for at least three years, until I was scared by The Black Hole in 1979...
Just got back from seeing Zootopia The kids liked it and the wife & I liked it to. It has some pretty funny moments.
