No, I didn't know it existed. I'll have to check it out, but since it was in the 70's I'm sure the violence was toned down to the pablum level. I believe it was the 70's when they couldn't show anybody getting shot on TV.
Reacher would be an OK series of movies but I don't see much success with crime procedurals lately. I like them, but it seems if there isn't a superhero or a CGI character in a movie,it's going to tank.
The Equalizer was one of my favorite series. Part of the appeal was the main character appeared so innocuous. I liked Blacklist when it first started, but after a few episodes it became too far-fetched. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's People from BBC with Alec Guiness were mini-series I loved years ago and would like to rewatch, but they aren't available on Netflix or Amazon streaming. I could buy them from Amazon, but I don't want to pay that much for them. I'm also a bit ambivalent because often when I watch something I liked 30+ years ago I find I no longer care for it. The Alec Guiness version was much better than the remake that came out in 2011 though, but that's comparing a several hour mini-series to a 2-hour movie.
Warren Murphy the co-creator and rights owner died on September 4th 2015. I have no idea it this would affect the film option rights...
Took my 8 year old to see Zootopia yesterday. It was decent. There are few scenes that would likely be too scary for my 4 year old though. The ending was very reminiscent of the ending of Monsters Inc which was kind of strange.
SPECTRE, just now. Not bad, but then I liked Quantum of Solace when no one else apparently did. Interesting how Spectre more resembled how THRUSH was always described in Man from UNCLE. Plus the direct lift ("visual quote") of the 1st season MFU credits (bulletproof glass) when Bond finds Blofeld in the basement. Something only a geek would note, sorry. Have not seen SKYFALL, not sure I'm missing anything there.
My daughter asked me why we don't watch Toy Story 3. I tell her its because the last time we watched it you got sad when the toys were imprisoned, tortured and almost murdered. What were Pixar thinking? That is a really dark kids films. Wartership down. I remember saying to my mum "Mummy why are all the nice bunnies getting killed." It was a bunny massacre. All the kids in crying.
