That is an awesome film. I always look for it on DVD but can never find a decent copy. I had it on computer at one point but it got corrupted. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
The Incredibles, again, with the kids. Tomorrow, I will be settling in with Hacksaw Ridge. Hopefully I will be seeing Logan this weekend. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Infiltrator; It was entertaining. If you don't have anything better goin, it'll hold your attention. Gathering the Storm and Into the Storm- dramatized documentary about Winston Churchill. The first part was better than the second.
"Torture Garden" (1967), Burgess Meredith, Jack Palance, Peter Cushing. Pretty good cheesy horror flick
So tonight I watched The Admiral: Roaring Currents. This was the movie I thought I was going to watch the other night when I watched Admiral. No longer streaming on Netflix I had to get it by DVD. It tells the tale of 12 Korean ships vs 300 Japanese. I enjoyed it. I love epic battles and impossible odds. And I find how wars used to be fought fascinating. Fleets with ship numbers in the hundreds at a single battle. And now it would be just a couple of destroyers. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Family movie night was the new version of Pete's Dragon. Pretty much as bad as I expected. This movie was literally and figuratively dark. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I watched War Dogs tonight. It was ok but I've come to the realization I don't like Jonah Hill as an actor. He plays the same character. And for some I don't mind this. Like Tom Cruise. With the exception of Tropic Thunder he pretty much plays every role the same way. And I don't mind. But Jonah Hill is just obnoxious. And the other dude normally plays an arse. I can't think of one movie where he wasn't. Not even this one. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
So tonight I went to the symphony to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. So they play the movie on a big screen, but the symphony plays the musical score. It is pretty cool, and you kind of zone out and forget they are there. Sometimes though the score drowns out the dialogue, and a lot of the sound effects tonight were non-existant. But I like going. This is the third time I've been. I've seen Back to the Future and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (or Philosopher's Stone for the rest of the world).
I went and saw the new Beauty and the Beast this afternoon. It wasn't bad, but I prefer the animated version.
Yesterday was a bit of a movie marathon. Started with the 1964 French classic, Band of Outsiders which was pretty good. Then the WWII classic, The Desert Rats which was okay and then finished it up with the 1986 Josh Brolin skate boarding opus, Thrashin' which was just cheesy enough to be mildly entertaining.
